thoughts on jungle/support?

I have made several posts like this but me being more of a flexible player(besides ADC I have at least 1 mastery 3-4 for every role) I don't get the annoyance of being autofilled to a role I am not familiar with, you don't get smite until level I think 9 so you are familiar with some stuff when you get smite, and there are always some good champ to pick like WW or amumu(some having more clear then others, and some more enjoyable then others, but that's a preference. that's why I used RP to get RekSai ) and it's decently simple. grab red/blue clear wolves/gromp back get the second bonus XP jungle item then repeat with raptors/krugs bla bla bla, repeat and gank a bit. and support...well the toys you get to mess with people are high in numbers Zilean Blitzcrank Bard Ivern ect. and yes ivern can support. so I don't mind it. just buy a item 2055 or item 2049 ward a bit then mess with people. be it by getting a teammate out with 5 HP or slowing them by 99%...forever. or just spam CC moves like a madwomanLux

I have to question your ability in both of those roles. Power farm jungle is a thing, but I would be super upset if that is all you did without warning. Even with warning, you better watch that dang map and come when I ping for you. And support is definitely not just warding.

I picked RekSai for two reasons-the waveclear of the unburrowed skills and the little to no cooldown burrowing skills to speed up my ganks with her burrow, tunner, and void rush that lets....her... go to any placed tunnel and high damage from attacks makes things very simple though I don't do ranked so generally I get stuck with people who get mad at me for being somewhere else when they try to 1v3,or if I am not jg,the jungle who uses no ping like I am on my way and dies over and over again, getting mad for not helping when the ADC is at like 50 HP

When I ping for jg, but see him farming... then he pops up in my lane 3 minutes later in a 1v1 gank.

I need better map awareness if he was coming up. But I wish he pinged.

Getting filled to support means I have basically zero control over the game at all. Even if my ADC is absolute shit and can't last hit, I can't step in to take over because I'll get called toxic.

Yep. Support has no influence on the outcome of the game. That's why they tend to have the most utility, and perform the best out of most teams when they get behind. I'm sure the ability to secure kills, protect allies, poke, and just generally do things to irritate the enemy team will have no bearing on the outcome of the game whatsoever.

TL;DR: Sarcasm. Lots and lots of sarcasm.

If you don't understand the difference between INFLUENCE and CONTROL, then you should be studying for your 3rd grade classes in the morning.

Okay, what do you mean by control over the game? Because even in champ select you can control the game a lot. Worried your ADC is bad and can't last hit? Pick Zyra, steal CS by accident. Worried your ADC will go in at bad times? Pick Tahm Kench, save their sorry ass. Their are supports who can take control of the game in some way, shape, or form, who don't necessarily rely on killing creeps. And if you're getting flamed for taking your ADC's farm after they farm like shit perhaps you're just in a shitty elo because you're a shitty player. Just a thought.

You will never be able to 1v2 as a Tahm Kench support. What I mean by CONTROL is being able to actually carry bad players. You can't carry every game, but as you pointed out, support champions often have the most UTILITY, which is far different than CARRY POTENTIAL. A Yasuo can carry. A good Darius can carry. A good Syndra can carry. A good Ryze can carry. A good Twitch can carry. A good Vayne can carry. A good Blitzcrank can't carry. A good Soraka can't carry. Sure, the semi-support picks like Zyra and MF can carry a bit, but as support they are going to be at item disadvantages.

Supports carry by proxy. Even if your ADC is bad, there are two other lanes and a jungler who can be good but not quite good enough. That's where a support comes in. A good support player will carry the game, and make the enemy team miserable, but never get focused for it because it doesn't look like they're carrying. I've carried games as Galio support. If you want flashy plays you have champions like Bard or Thresh for that too. The idea that you have to be the one dealing damage to carry and be the contributing factor to your team's victory is quite frankly, moronic at best.

I have literally 1v5'd an entire team as WW (Last season, full AD team, I had full armor tank build). Not just cleaning up kills, I was literally the only one alive on my team and the enemy was full health. I killed the entire enemy team and then the enemy nexus turrets and the nexus, before anyone on my team could respawn. I'd like to know which supports can 1v5.

CannonLordFreed1 votes

Wow, it's almost like the position is populated by champions not meant to 1v5. Are you dumb? You can't be under the impression that the only way to win a fight is by outdamaging the opponent, you can win by outplaying them, or by just taking away their ability to fight back, or by setting up for your teammates to do damage. Yes, the support role forces you to rely on your teammates. In a team game. Please get your ass back to Wood V.

Zilean I can name only 2 times people pointed out my slow

insert any replay of the ADC getting mad for you "taking CS" after they back/are dead Some supports become more of a liability end game, with all the damage. so I picked zilean cause cant go wrong with infinite 99% slows, and 33 second cooldown revives

^ ive literally kept myself alive while getting their team to chase me through the jungle, almost as fun as doing it with bard.

I do really poorly as an ADC and jungle. Being autofilled to a position you play poorly in means a disadvantage for you and your team. Let's say you are terrible at supporting and you get autofilled to support. While you are stuck in that position, the enemy support has been playing in that role for years. Guess who has the advantage?
