New Zeke's Herald gives a clear advantage to duo-queue players

6/29 PBE Update

So the new Zeke's Herald is specifically designed for bottom lane partners who can coordinate well. Even RiotJag says in the post that you probably don't want to get it if you don't know what your ADC is doing.

But what I'm wondering is whether it's a good idea for RIOT to create an item that gives such a clear advantage to duo-queue players in solo queue. Duo queue players that tend to play bottom together already have an advantage over two solo-queue players because they are communicating through voice chat or prearranged pings. So do they really need the additional advantage of such a strong item that only works well through good communication and teamwork?

And yes, every bottom lane should try and communicate and coordinate but it's just not possible to do nearly as well as a pair that are practiced together and communicating with voice chat.

This item may be fine in team play but I think it will really make duo-queue teams hard to beat in solo queue. Do you agree?

Personally, I liked Zeke's the way it is, not whatever this is. It's an AD item, for crying out loud!. Why the hell change it like this? It was about the power boost for the team and the extra cooldown and sustain, not this. If you want an item like this MAKE A NEW ITEM. Leave Zeke's alone. Seriously, I use this thing all the time, and these changes will render it's usefulness to me completely null and void.

  1. Team game, organization should be rewarded.

  2. From all the whine we get daily with Duo Bots ruining every1's game I guess it wouldn't hurt to give them a hand.

I can agree to some extent. Though I'm not really sure if it would be some kind of duo queue exclusive item (you could probably quite literally just slap it onto your highest damage dealer and they'll go to work by simple virtue of playing the game how they're supposed to)

The way the description sounds, BOTH players can accumulate charges, and when one of you has 100 both (maybe? Wording is a little vague) of you get the buff. Duo queue's might have a bit more coordination in using the item, but I'd imagine anyone could use it quite easily.

On a side note, 20% Ap is crazy good. How does that interact with Deathcap's passive? Is it an additive value of 55%, or a multiplicative of 48%?

What I fear more is the Relinking part. Sure you can link it to your ADC but you can chose later to put it on say, the Master Yi who just finished his Stated Devourer.

well, looks interesting. not sure what to think of it yet.

could be nice to get someone on your team to bind you with it.
