Oh god. At least there are no consequences...yet.

EDIT: Just read the part where you can actually see your friend's score and how they actually DRAG YOU DOWN. That is just straight up tearing people apart. That sucks. Also, wtf is with no positive reinforcement. You are basically just saying "hey, if you don't do our propaganda for us, we will slowly take away your entertainment. Oh, and we will make this seem NICE." That's... sickening

RIOT games itself has no direct connection (besides Tencent) with the game Sesame Credits. Think about that first alright? Though yeah this IS kinda scary in its own right but if you click the link there are some commenters from China about it. Take some time to read them, and you might learn something.

Not saying I like the idea of this game (at all), but reading what some of the commenters from China have to say about it might make you mull things over for some time. Also check out the Wikipedia site about Tencent before you start doing crazy things...

Like grabbing a tin foil hat and start talking about conspiracy theories without evidence.

Logically look for answers before you just start assuming things, that is all I ask for.

Why would Riot Games be working on it? Look at it from a business perspective, what skills carry over from developing League of Legends to developing Sesame Credit?

  • Character Design? - Not needed
  • Character Balance? - Not needed
  • Map Design? - Not needed
  • 3D Modeling? - Not needed
  • Lore? - Not needed
  • Low latency network traffic? - Not needed

Pretty much nothing from making a game like League of Legends translates to making a "game" like Sesame Credit. You've got generic programming and knowledge of social interactions, but you'd be better off pulling in new employees for that. Honestly, it'd make more business sense for them to pull programmers from Alibaba than from League, since Sesame Credit relies on accessing information from their system.

To make Tencent more money, they'd be better off putting League of Legends developers on developing a more conventional game, be it another MOBA, an MMO, RPG, FPS, heck, even a card game. It'd be a waste of company resources to pull Riot Games developers to work on this.

Maybe RIOT can implement something like this for GD? We all get ratings and when we praise RIOT or upvote posts that do, our score will go up. Same as when we downvote posts that criticize Riot.
