Tried out New Malzahar after a Month of Waiting

The Great Divide··12 votes·784 views

Playing One for All and got locked into Malzahar. Thought: haven't played him after his rework for fear of me hating the change, but I guess this is a sign.

And the verdict: I hate new Malzahar. I want old malzahar back. No one asked for this rework, and no one wanted it when RiotRepertoir shipped it out. I miss my old main.

Sigh just a post about the sad reality that a favorite champ is now unplayable to me :/

problem I have is that all his damage got nerfed and moved to his W which feels bad.

It also makes his line phase extremely stupid. Now he just spams e+w and clears waves like no one does. Zed 2.0.

This is pretty much it. I played old Malzahar like a kite mage. Using q and bouncing the e to do massive damage while always staying just out of range. Now both do piddly damage. That tied to the fact that his ult is just a suppresion tool now (you no longer are an anti-assassin, because your ult does laughable damage), and getting off his full w potential (where all the damage is now loaded) is very situational.

It just feels like you don't do any damage, and are merely just there to frustrate the enemy (but never actually be a threat).

I want to know really what was the point of this rework. It didn't solve anything. Just made Malzahar more frustrating to play against (Random spell shield passive, wut?) and to play as (fantasies of actually doing damage like old Malz)

It really does suck man.

Malzahar was fine the way he was before. Voidling bug fixes would have made us happy.

But now he is in this state... Where he needs Riot the most.

And the guy who led the Malzahar rework has apparently clammed up about it while the masses hates on new Malz.

Here is the thing...

The community can deny it all they want, but they know deep inside that Malzahar mains know that the Old Malz was stronger.

They don't want Malz to be stronger.

They want him gutted. There will be no support for a revert. Ever.

Our prophet has apparently been abandoned.

See old malz was stronger.... but new malz somehow manages to be more frustrating

This community is full of filthy, selfish assholes who only care about their own mains. Sad but that's reality and anyone who says so otherwise is just being destroyed by the guilt inside them.

My first instinct was omfg, he's getting reworked, there goes my fucking main! AND GUESS WHAT I WAS RIGHT! Riot doesn't fucking know how to rework champs. His kit is just frustrating to players like you said. I love him becuz he's my main. but what riot did my malz, it's just horrible. I do appreciate some of the new things, but it wasn't the tuning that I wanted for malzahar. His kit now is trying too hard to do too much and honestly thanks to riot my main got way too much negative attention. It's not fun having ur main perma'd at one point, and then feel weaker. Yet certain champs can stay broken for a lot longer....

Riot just needs to admit they don't like Malzahar and don't care about him.

It's ok because none of your opinions matter.

Only Riot's opinions, of what a champ should be, matter. No matter how illogical, or worse off the champ is after a needless rework(s)... they're still better. Change for the sake of change, no matter how unhealthy for the game, and despised by the community, is a good thing.

So no worries m8, Rito's got you covered by liking the changes for you.

What about old Tristana? I used to be a Tristana mid/top main and then they removed AP ratio from her E and R and basically destroyed my fav champ

I remember that! I used to be an AP Kogmaw player as well and I guess that just was unacceptable too

Yeah riot is doing very bad job at remaking champions. Ok tristana and kog first roles are ADC so lets just forgive them... but what about graves? from ADC to jungler, Malzahar from mid lane to jungle.... this game is really not worth my time anymore.

First game with a significantly altered kit in a game mode that throws balance to the curb.

Yeah, that's gonna color your first impressions more than a little bit.

Riot reworks.

AD Malz player here. New Voidlings are okay, but a golden opportunity was missed to give the build more viability. As it stands, I too like the old Malzahar better.
