Is Heimer considered a joke in higher elo?

InSingedWeTrust··1 votes·1,029 views

Due to the ranked reset, some of the diamonds/high plats have landed in Gold 1-3. I was fighting a Yorick top with an enemy Maokai jungle, and they were feeding me left and right. (Both were high plat/diamond 5 in the previous season), the enemy Fizz (diamond) says in all chat.

"LOL losing to Heimer, Gold is funny."

So my question, is Heimer considered a nonviable/troll-pick in Heimer elo? I thought he had impressive winrates across the board.

Heimer is kinda like Singed, he pretty much relies on the other team to be complete idiots, the only REAL way he is going to kill you is by you trying to all in him and failing.

or if he walks up to you and ult dfg missiles for a burst that would make syndra and veigar jealous

I've seen some Heimer players opt for DFG. I just can't find myself in situations where I think, "Damn, I need a DFG to make sure I can burst x champion down."

The difference between him and those two is that his ult requires the missiles to be off cooldown and to be put on cooldown after use. That's two spells he's using versus their one. That, and hitting all the missiles is near impossible unless the person is stunned for 1.5 seconds or more. Plus, if you miss with missiles, grats, you just wasted ur alt and primary damage ability.

wow.. missile have to be off cooldown.. such a massive set back and absolutely towering hindrance syndra requires you lay down a shit ton of balls down o thats like 4+ skills as opposed to 2

veigar is same shit.. like 4 buttons ;l

the difference is syndra and veig are point click but when people are charging straight at you in an attempt to kill you it should not be too hard to make em eat all your missle s pointblank kinda like grave's shot gun

Syndra's Q is a 4 second cooldown, without cooldown reduction. At 40% max cooldown reduction, that lowers to 2.4 seconds. Heimer's W (missiles) is an 11 second cooldown, without cooldown reduction. At 40% max cooldown reduction, that lowers to 6.6 seconds. Syndra's whole kit is to throw balls everywhere. Heimer can't afford to use his abilities willy nilly. His cooldowns are much longer (and they have a higher mana cost, to boot). If he uses his missiles to try to poke an enemy and suddenly the teamfight starts (which is more common than you may think), he can't use that for a minimum of around 6 seconds. By then, the fight would have been ended.

veigar is same shit.. like 4 buttons ;l

... He throws down his stun. If he gets someone stunned .. he walks up and throws his unavoidable ult, as well as his unavoidable Q, and his AoE that also has a high chance to hit because of the long stun time. That's nowhere near the same.

Then please, let's play a normals in my elo so I can watch you do this with no problem, what-so-ever. One thing you should take note is that they go along a path, and they stop that path when they hit something if it's not killed. It's very common for that target they hit to be a tank, since most carries won't be charging you before the tank. When you're up against a tank with plenty of magic resist, hitting him with every missile won't even bring the tank down by half. It's much better to just use his Ulti Q. It's far more reliable when being dived when you add in the grenade stun you can throw at the enemy when they are near you.

In short, I can tell that you've hardly ever (if ever) played Heimerdinger in his rework if you think his Ulti missiles are so reliable and easy.

I get that doing some actual aiming is bothersome but the CD part is absolutely bullshit ;l

What do you mean by "the CD part is absolutely bullshit"?

using his missile CD and overall cost as an argument wtf, what donger is not conservative? your abilities ought to be pretty much always off cooldown precisely because you dont know whats going to happen and he can afford to do so cuz his turrets are adequate enough to do pretty much EVERYTHING

Sure, on low elo. Though by mid game, I find them getting one-shot by AoEs.

I, personally will hate Heimerdinger for the rest of my life in any position or role. It isnt that I find him so unmanageable to play against. I can use all of his counter champions fairly well, but what really makes me hate him is he takes little to no skill. HE JUST FREAKING SITS THERE. And he wins almost every lane doing it, because even if you destroy his turrets you took probably a good 10% hp doing so (from either his rockets or the turrets themselves depending on the champion), and he can just place down more. Or, if you decide to ignore the turrets he is constantly pushing your lane without even doing anything. It's almost a lose-lose situation, and on top of that almost all junglers find it incredibly hard to gank him because it requires going into his little circle of turrets. All in all, he has very little counterplay for the amount of upfront damage he can do to multiple people at the same time.

Any champion with even moderate waveclear clears his turrets accidentally most times.

But then he just places more and goes on his merry little way, and he can place them in different ways so that they cant clear all of them at once.

You have to know how to place him against every single champ. He's** very **particular. You also have to land his stun, which (if the enemy is far away), is very difficult. What's more, you have to be a master with positioning. If you aren't, you'll die (unless the enemy is braindead).

But if you do know how to handle each champion, can land his stuns, and are a master with positioning, he's a monster.

Yeah, I've got a near 90% winrate with him so far, and that's the first time someone's commented on my pick. So I was just wondering if I should expect trolling from teammates as I continue to climb.

Heimer elo

my sides!

Anyway, Heimer is just a situational champ. He can decimate some teams, others he can't touch because they kill all his turrets including his ulti turret on accident with their AOE.

Heimderinger is a Top Lane in higher ELOs when every played. He was in a competitive match once for Top Lane with like 3 Doran's Rings. He was pretty good during the Ryze phase of Top Lane and is now just a standard Mage for Top Lane and Middle Lane. He is used to counter melee lane bullies in Top Lane and short ranged Mages in Middle Lane, the latter being a rare occurrence which is why he is usually seen in Top Lane in higher ELOs. He is really good for objective control, so he is a good match-up with other poke and objective control champions such as Nunu, Cho'Gath, Jayce, and Ziggs.

Heimerdinger is almost never seen in high elo. Per lolking, he's a slightly winning champion in diamond, but his pick rate is under 1%.
