Looks like it just has a larger hitbox than the particles strictly convey.

Just to let you know, dravens ult hit box is probs like lux's absurdly large ult. You also need to know that dravens axes do change direction and when you think about it. If you change the perspective of the champs when you got hit, you will see that you were next to it if that makes sense?

I have played with Draven many times and I know how it works... and it is not how I seen till now.

Basically what this intelligent individual said. If you go to 0:25 - 0:26 and play it slowly, you will see that it both changes direction and it doesn't hit you but since its Riot we are talking about, hit box's do exist

not a bug, just garbage hit boxes that dont fit the ability

That's considered a bug, my dude. Especially when the hitbox is its own entire width to the side.

no its not? an animation not fitting a hitbox isnt a bug its just bad design

No... it's a bug. Animations are supposed to represent their hitboxes. Not sure what definition of bug you're trying to use that doesn't include animation/hitbox interactions, but it's wrong.

dude just google what a bug is, his hitbox not fitting his animation isnt a big because its not an error of any kind in the coding and its not an unintended effect

Firstly, it is both a result of the coding and an unintended effect. The fact it doesn't result in a bugsplat doesn't mean it isn't a bug.

Second, in response to what you said about Lux, that's a case of the game's angled POV, not mismatching hitboxes. Jhin's W and Nid's Q are prime examples of this phenomenon, as their thinness makes it so that if they're standing at the top-right relative to the target the angle relative to the ground can make it appear as though the abilities are their entire width away from the hitbox. But that is a case of them functioning correctly.

This Draven example is not such a case, as angle of the camera is the perfect angle for hitboxes to actually match the animation, but it still hits far to the left anyway.

Im with Dr dog on this one.

We know there's going to be visual issues with the camera. We know the visuals are inaccurate to hit boxes. Its not the Hit box interaction that's the problem, its working as intended. Its the visuals being really mismatched that's the issue. Its Developer error, not the hitbox.

When Riot releases a skin and derp on the visuals. Like they did with Annie frost fire where her Stun animation was hard to see. She still functioned as intended, the skin did not bug her, but the animation was a lot harder to get readability and visibility for so it impacted gameplay. A mistake, not a bug. Human error, not program error.

It's stupid. if we can not get the visualization effect to the real damage box then where can we be sure of anything working properly?

Anywhere we know it does? One hitbox being wrong doesn't mean every hitbox is wrong.

So the easiest thing is to ask... why hitbox field is different than animation? Is it make sense at all?

But why simply not to change hitbox to be fit to animation or animation to be fit to hitbox ? I'm not the smartest guy I know but my idea seems to be easiest (greatest) thing that RIOT could do to eliminate any problems... or maybe it is like it is - to manipulate a score?

Because of the camera view. The game is not 3 dimensional but built to look it. your only moving around on a 2d plane. The animations are what creates an illusion of depth. How ever there's no real depth. There is only Hight by width in the game. Part of animations job is to create the illusion of depth. This makes champion models look 3d but they are only a 2d point. Hence the hit box does not match the model.

Inaccuracy's in hitboxes come from both mistakes as well as the necessity to miniplate perceptive.

If you struggle to understand this let me know if I need to bust out my OP MS paint skills to explain it further.

In a 3d game you have depth, you can code to have every pixel of a unit or ability represent hitbox. Even then a lot of folks don't for gameplay reasons.

If you think about it, other champs have shitty hit box's and of such one notorious one is Lux. Legit her root can be thrown the opposite direction and it will hit.... (this isn't a joke btw). I wouldn't consider it a skill shot tbh. Her ult is debatable, you can stand next to it and dodge it but you can be a desirable distance away from it and you will die.

well this one of the VERY few instances where a person posted a video of a skillshot they "claimed" miss them.. and it actually DID miss them.

i really don't know what to say.. i mean i am practically the only person here who realizes that hitsboxes RARELY match the visuals... but that flat out.. wasn't even near you.

i came here fully expecting to explain to the OP that the hisboxes dont match the visual and they extend further out... but wow... they don't extend THAT far out.. THAT is a pretty major visual issue..

that's a visual bug

So simply try to imagine how many people can loose their ranked games only becouse the things looks different...

It is so difficult to make thing right ?

Not a Bug or a cheat. Just a visual inaccuracy. The ability effect is not glitching, Its just that hitboxes are not accurate to models. Slow it down near the end. Look at it from the return point, See how Draven is running off to the left? This changes how it returns, you can see that the return path is higher then the original throw, just by looking at the trails it leaves behind. Its a game so Hit boxes track hits even by 1 pixel (not that it matters because its the hitbox pixels not a visible. so you have no good way to check it)

Overhead views like league have some weird hitbox to visuals because of how depth is perceived.

Some ability's have Grossly inaccurate visuals Blitzcrank Morgana .

Your complaint should not be that some one cheated or that theres a bug. This is a painfully bad Visual to effect. You should be complaining that the Visual sets a unrealistic gameplay expectation.

Anyhow its not a glitch or a bug because the mechanics behind the system are functioning as intended. Its just hitbox interactions, Bad ones.
