Suggested Poppy Changes
The new rework I think has potential, but it is lacking in some important ways.
- Her Q is a strange ability. It is no longer an attack reset, and it is not targeted. Instead, it aims at your cursor despite a very short range. I suggest changing it to function more like Eve's Q -- have it automatically aim at Poppy's current target, or at the closest enemy if she doesn't have a current target. It can be very frustrating to try to E-Q someone, because if you travel further than anticipated, you will Q the wrong direction. It's just strange to use. Alternately, convert it back into an attack reset ability like her old Q with the effect aimed at her AA target. Reduce the ratios on it to compensate for the added single-target damage if you like, but I think it would be much more intuitive that way.
- Her ult is fun, but I think that people should be targetable if Poppy elects to do the immediate-release knock-up instead of the knock-back. Yes, if you are knocking people back, victims should be untargetable as it currently is. However, the current implementation is extremely disruptive in teamfights -- more often than not, knocking people straight up will just serve to interrupt auto-attacks of teammates, make things miss, and generally mess up your stuff. Poppy's team should be rewarded when Poppy knocks everyone up in the air. Instead, the enemies have the advantage when they land. Another fix would be to add a 1 second stun when people land where they are targetable but unable to act. That way, the ult with such a visible CC effect would actually give teammates a chance to act on it.
- Her passive shield toss is very unfriendly to Poppy. Could it be reworked so that it doesn't do things like toss the shield under a monster/enemy, but instead to an open area? Also, I may be mistaken, but there seems to be some kind of "wind-up" period when it comes off of cooldown where you still cannot use it. When that cooldown clicks off, we should be able to toss the shield. Maybe it's just my bad timing, though.
