Why no one plays support.

In a one shot meta let's continue to cry about the things that continue to save us,

Same people that complain damage is too high, wanted summoner 3 nerfs

Same people that complain damage is too high, wants Lulu nerfs

Same people that complain damage is too high, wantsitem 3190 and item 3107 nerfs

This is why no one wants to play support, they are a scapegoat role that continues to get shit for doing their job, enabling their team and saving lives but every time something from the support role becomes too "OP" it must be nerfed to the ground immediately.

Open your eyes you say damage is too damn high yet we still continue to ask for nerfs from the things that continue to enable us and save our life in risky moments.

Continue to ask for nerfs from the one thing that save you then you ask why damage is so why and why you can't survive.

Don't get me wrong though building them every game isn't as diverse and should be more situational, but they do add for very interesting game play.

I dont mind playing support, only reason i stop playing support was because i kept getting idiot adcs who dont know the first thing about last hitting minions, freezing the lane, and when to engage. So when i try to ping the adc not to fight, and they fight anyways and get themselves killed they blame the support. Im the support, i shouldnt have to be your brain also adcs. So yeah main reason i stoped playing support is really stupid adcs, then i would also get blamed, flamed, yelled at, and cursed at when we lost bot lane even though it was the 1-8-1 adc with 30 only 15 minutes into the game that allowed the enemy bot lane to snowball. Also its almost impossible to carry from support if your whole team is really stupid and not listening at all

Support main here! So, not true that no one plays support.

I've been considering hanging up my ADC towel because my supports USUALLY don't work well with me. They'll engage when I want to farm, stay back behind me doing nothing when I want to engage, more often than not they'll just blindly charge at the enemy in the early game and feed kills or make me waste heal just to keep them alive. It's like they start the game expecting a fed ADC right off the bat lol. I'm like no, I need time to get to that point and repeatedly charging in feeding isn't helping... And then they get mad at me lol.

Here's an example of a scenario I see a lot, usually from bad supports who don't know they are bad. My support starts the fight by ccing the enemy support in some way, then going for an all in engage on the support. This puts me in a position where if I go to focus the support with my support, the enemy ADC will focus me, and lately that means having to take like 3 Lucian double shots to the face. So I opt to focus the enemy ADC while my support focuses the enemy support (who still has flash and exhaust usually). Then, the enemy support just ignores my support altogether and turns on me with that exhaust ready, so I'll be getting focused by two people while my support has still done no damage to the enemy ADC. Then I have to waste flash or something.

Alternatively, if I focus the enemy support along with my support, we MIGHT kill him but then I will almost inevitably will die as well to the enemy ADC, and then my support is left to 1v1 the enemy ADC and the enemy ADC usually wins that fight and gets a doublekill. (Except in odd scenarios where I've seen like Tahm Kench/Thresh/Leona double kills happen) So yeah, now when I see this situation start happening I usually just think it's better to let my support die.

Two more things supports do that I think I have every right to complain about, are the supports that just roam nonstop so I'm left to 1v2 the bottom lane. Yeah I'm looking at you Bard. You don't need to be dying at Rift herald while I'm getting turret dove in the bottom lane.

The last and single biggest most annoying thing any support can do to ruin me is push my lane when I die, roam, or recall. It not only makes me miss a couple of minion waves which I would have otherwise gotten, but then when I come back to lane the minion wave isn't at my turret where I want it to be, it's pushed to the enemy turret and I have to overextend to get CS or just sit back and wait for the enemy to push the lane back to me. Then they can just freeze the lane and starve me more. Then if I die again, and my support pushes the lane again, I'm basically fucked because I've already lost out on too much farm and experience. At least if my supports are just running in and dying I can still get my own farm and experience. lol

A lot of your examples could be avoided with communication. I play a lot of support, granted at low elo, and I usually have to start the match by asking the ADC what stat they want to play. Usual statement is: "Hey [ADC], you want me to poke hard or go slow and let you farm hard early?" depending on their response I adjust my play. It would be nice if the ADC started the match with a heads up "I plan to farm closer to our tower, let's play safe" or "poke them hard supp, I'll push wave early and we will harass them early".

Everyone plays different, as supp I try to let the ADC control the tempo early game. But if my ADC keeps failing or shows no desire to communicate, a roaming I will go.

Communication is the key to any good relationship, and there is no lane with more need for a good relationship than bot lane.

I main support and I already having cancer reading your complains. You clearly don't know how to duo and put all the blame on the other guy like if support is your personal btch or dog who should obey your commands. In this case, I either would go on roam or start CSing myself. If you can't adapt to support actions, don't expect support to adapt to yours. Both, adc and support should work as one. You don't own support, neither support owns you. As the guy above said - communication is the key and it's not just verbal communication, you should watch his actions and his positioning and capabilities too.

Say what you will, but when I'm like 3-2 and my support is like 0-10 by 15 minutes, I know who the problem is. Like you said, I don't own them, I can't control their actions, so I can't stop them from repeatedly feeding. Supports tend to think that they know everything and always do everything right, and they get this smug attitude and start trolling me whenever I ask them to do something they don't want to do. So... Of course you would defend the support as a support main. If you would start CSing or leave your ADC to 1v2 bottom lane, then you are the bad support I am talking about. Stop it. Honestly though I think a large part of the problem is the fact that most supports are autofills and have no idea what they are doing.

It is possible for more than one thing to be overpowered at a time, and its not always the same people complaining about two different things.
