A thing i would like to ask about Veigar...
How do you see the W being able to damage the towers, maybe with reduced damage and some other balance you might think about?

Allowing a champion to hurt towers from outside their range is a pretty bad idea, especially if sad champ is very powerfull vs engages. We had that on S1 heimer, his granade could hit towers...He was damn broken, though not only because of that.
Veigar is not powerful vs engages, or at least is powerful but nothing too much broken ( he is more powerful by following an allied engage after all ).
Yeah i remember how old Heimer was ( started in S2), he did not have granades that damaged towers at my time tho but i guess i can understand how much it can hurt. Still my question was not about sheer power, but rather strategical depth ( at which point some balance might follow, like reducing slightly the ratio ) or how the players felt about that ( maybe no one is intrested into that? i mean, shredding the enemy lines is cool enough).
veigars e is one off the most powerfull counter-engage tools ever...
anyway, i don't think destroying towers is a fitting strategic niche for Veigar, it doesn't fit to his theme, nor to the 'feel' and gameplay he has.

Thank you for your contribution
no, because he already has indefinite scaling against towers, very similar to nasus, if he just goes up and autos it he takes chunks out of the turrets health already.
This is the point that had me think the most: since Veigar scales theorically infinitely, then his damage can be hard to control and can result pretty much broken, even if the ratio of the skill gets reduced to compensate.
Looking at statistics with 700 AP you deal 1020 tooltip damage, resulting in 340 approx damage every 5 seconds with 40% cdr, taking 30 seconds to put an outer turret down ( sorta). DPS wise is very low compared to what a carry or even a bruiser can dish out, but i don' t argue that it can be really really safe with a minimally proper team composition. This gets increased to 440 if he has 1000 ap instead, which is rather hard to get.
The point of the post was to ask other Veigar players if they liked the idea of having some other kind of utility without considering raw power from it; if however you think that raw power can' t be ignored in this case, then i gotta give that point.
Yay, so I can one shot not only champions, but towers as well! AND the fact that I don't even need to get into range of the tower to do that!
well when i meant reduced damage i meant, like, a third of tooltip damage. let' s not be ridicolus D:
Im a loving Veigar main, and i can tell you that that would be insane. (i would do ~500 Damage to the enemy tower without being in danger at all)
Without being in danger, but attacking with a very slow ratio and burning one os the most powerful nukes non ultimate in the game.
Also i am an old Veigar player and i know how much he hurts, just asking to get impressions. The more i post on boards, the more i have the impression that only exagerated posts get attenction.
Why buff one of the strongest mid laners in the game doe?
arguabily he is not the best - and if he has rough edges, this change could (could) actually benefit him by giving some strategical depth in team composition beyond the stun and "generic nuke power" while sightly nerfing something else, like sheer power. dunno if that is good actually, just asking for opinions.
That would be so broken. With max cdr he w is 4.8 cd and i am pretty sure you can hit tower with out the tower hitting you
