The problem is, as a support, your income is almost exclusively tied to how well your ADC is doing. The gold income items can't get you enough gold to shift adequately into a carry role if your ADC isn't getting you assists.

I can carry as support sona without building either of those. So what does that make me?

That's funny because when you build split pushing items like this, you are effectively removing the gold that you earn from Zz'Rot and Banner from a carry or top laner or mid laner or jungler and trading it for map pressure. Strategically, these can be good items, if your team doesn't know what pressure is, but a team that is pressing it advantages will already be pressuring 1-3 lanes and that gold is always more useful on a carry than a support.

You could argue that they can also be effective when used in a siege, but most people that I see use them to push a side lane that no one else is on. Typically this is the top laner's job, when the rest of your team is grouped up and working on the other side of the map. It seems to me though that most people don't mind when these items are being used by a support.

Personally I would prefer to have that money on a damage dealer but I usually won't complain for the added utility that these items bring.

when your support gets first item zzrot it's the WORST feeling in the world, especially if your lane is being dumpstered and you just want to farm.

Me and my friends buy Zz'rot on basically every champion.

It is easy to carry from support.

Step 1: Set up plays to get ADC ahead Step 2: Keep ADC alive long enough to do damage Step 3: AFK and watch your fed ADC win

When I'm JG or Support, I ALWAYS get Zz'rot. I don't know why people try to say it's a bad item.

Decent defensive stats, hp regen, movement speed near structures, massive lane pressure, and its the best gold gen item in the game.

theres a third LoL player...those who steal every kill "by accident" so they can get tankier so they can support better.....
