Potential Katarina Changes

I have some ideas. Primarily following the same path as the Akali nerfs; not hitting her snowballed state, but making it less EZPZ to reach that hyper-strong snowballed state by enforcing her identity of being weak pre-6.

Tell me what you think.

1) Make her energy-based,

**2) **make proc'ing her Q ON CHAMPIONS restore energy,

**3) **prevent her shunpo from costing energy, and finally...

4) make her passive, which resets cooldowns, also restore her energy fully?

So she would still be able to do the same infinite chain-lightning bullshit when she has multiple enemies to kill - her shunpo wouldnt cost energy, and she'd keep getting full energy-resets whenever someone she's attacked recently dies - but in-lane, she wouldn't be able to poke infinitely with Q unless she was actually getting close enough to try to proc the mark on you?

  1. On top of that, I'd shift more of the Q damage from the dagger into the mark proc, so she has just as much waveclear but actually has a weak 1-5 like she's supposed to. Note: The Q would do exactly the same damage total, but less of it would be in the dagger, and more of it would be in actually proc'ing the mark.

It's similar to how Akali had the simple change of making her E not proc her Q, but it actually gutted her - because E proc'ing Q let good akalis trade with you in-lane, levels 1-5, during the time that she was supposed to be exploitably weak. (Now, granted, I think that was a bad change to Akali's E, because it completely changed some of her high-level play patterns as well as making the move nearly useless, BUT it did successfully reinforce her Weak-till-6 identity. So why not put Katarina in the same situation?)

but in-lane, she wouldn't be able to poke infinitely with Q unless she was actually getting close enough to try to use the kit's energy restore effects.

Zed: "But that's not how energy works though."
