Not gonna lie, Aatrox's new mini-rework did hit the spot

Even if he still feels miles away from the original Aatrox, this is the closest we ever got to his rework to, well, feel kinda like an actual rework. He went back to be the squishy champion who deals damage in saccaded burst while achieving really high survivability, not through natural/built resistances, but through unmatched sustain. Mechanicaly-wise, he is still an alien, but the type of champion and his gameplay concepts finally start to feel right at home.

While I do think that his new ult is incredibly fun, I still believe (like many others who fought against Aatrox or even popular Aatrox players like Hashinshin said) that outside sources of healing should either get half the effect or to not be affected by the enhanced sustain. This will just result in pro-play team comps to be created with insane healing, resulting in (once again) entire strategies based on force funneling Aatrox into an UNSTOPPABLE force who'll get nerfed into nothing once again. TLDR; reduce outside healing enhancement from Aatrox ult.

I'm just waiting for Aatrox to get 5 resets in a team fight in MSI or LCS and riot hot-fix just remove his ult from the game and say fuck it, you have 3 abilities now. Still seems like it will be extremely strong in pro-play imo.

He keeps his ult but it just gives him 5 move speed

I ran into this and man, does it suck to be on the receiving end of Riven 2.0.

He's pretty overpowered right now honestly they went overboard with the hotfix buffs

They released his new kit.

They nerfed him a bit.

And then they nerfed his ult so that you now have to kill someone to get the revive instead of just automatically getting it.

What buffs are you talking about?

He heals on his % HP damage auto passive and when he ults he heals for 40-70% more, not just from his damage dealt, ALL healing and getting take downs extended his ult.

That buff, the one pros will abuse.

Still OP IMO but ye I don't dislike that , he is the World Ender after all

Just for the record they made it clear literally when they announced the rework that they were rebuilding him from the ground up, so expecting it to be close to old aatrox is your fault

He is broken now; literally can't kill him.

Play Morde, Olaf, or Jayce. Aatrox is super easy to beat.

Olaf is probably the best, as he has muchhhhh more sustain than Trox, and a stronger steriod on ult, and more range on Q.

Morde just melts him, it's halarious, He can't do anything.

Jayce will just poke him down, than leap in and mess him up super bad.

Yeah I agree, nerf or remove the outside healing. Put the power back as 5-10% self healing maybe, but the second the pros get any ideas, its back to the chopping block.

KnightOfEloHell2 votes

See, this is a better idea. 5-10% extra self healing, but a lack from outside sources. This is fair.

His ult needs to get removed. it dosent fit his kit at all and its 100% useless when behind.

Im glad your liking it

A change to make him better on soloQ and worse on pro play, as I said several times it was worth the try

He probably shouldnt amp outside sources of healing, yeah. But i feel like if hes still proplay viable its going to be because of his flexibility. That fact that he can be played mid top AND jungle is a huge boon for pro teams in the draft phase. This compounds with the fact that riot hates it when top laners manage to escape their containment zone(despite loving it whenever ranged champions who cant compete midlane shit up top lane for whatever reason). I think aatrox is in a good spot, his winrate is a little high for how high his pickrate is(oh wait, rivens pick and winrate is higher and shes just below the bar! Guess he's perfectly balanced!) but id like to see how he fares after having outside healing sources lowered because his winrate fucking TANKS the second games go past 25 minutes.

He finally feels balanced to me. Before the mini rework he was pretty bad in that his ult was do or die with no benefit, and his sustain was so garbage combined with his terrible bases that he couldn't deliver his damage. Then there was the problem of his mobility being god awful.

With the buffs to his sustain and the tweaking of his ult, it just plain feels better. While not any more mobile, I can SURVIVE long enough to pop off if I play well. I'm not going to hap hazzardly waste my ult unless I KNOW I can get that kill, so it separates the good from the bad, and promotes good play. It's a steroid at worst, and a revive at best. All in all it's just plain better.

He's like any other OP champ but he can heal to full health in a sec and got an AOE grab thingy.

KnightOfEloHell1 votes

Lol what, oh hell no he can't.

What can is my Morde that just popped the w I maxed, very VERY easily.

Or my Full Lifesteal Olaf that can solo Baron with no damage taken.

Those are things I can't do with Aatrox. His Q is too clunky and AoE gets reduced healing.

KnightOfEloHell1 votes

I mean I dunno dude.

I get a LOT more sustain from playing Olaf. Aatrox's ult heal vamp is nice to me, and not overpowered, and I play DR+Ravenous+BotRK Troxx.

See, the healing with LS is only good with attack speed. But, given how long it takes to get a Q off and that Q doesnt scale with AS at all, a full attack speed build is really lackluster. REALLY lackluster. Full damage or bruiser seems the best, and you can only really buy one AS item.

The reset is nice, but remember these facts that will make pro players not do an ADC HealTroxx:

-His whole kit is based around his Q, it is a majority of your damage. -His Q is AoE, so it gets REDUCED HEALING from items like DD, or anylifesteal item, so even if his team focus heals him, he will get reduced healing from all incoming sources on where most of your damage is. -His Q is really hard to land all the sweet spots anyways. I promise there are better champs out there, because Aatrox, while being neat with a fun kit, isn't very powerful and has a very clunky Q and a ridiculous 26 second CD on his w. -His ult isn't a free revive anymore, which is what pros were abusing
