Why does Conqueror only interact with AD?

I know the main purpose of the rune was to help the bruisers who lacked strength, but why is it ONLY AD that profits this rune? Wasn't the balance team trying to allow a maximum different build for all champions?

Because rumble with 20% true damage is nightmare fuel

This is the correct answer.

This will totally RUIN the game lmao Conqueror rumble with liandries.

Executioner1 votes

Stop, you're gonna hurt my brain even thinking about it.

Craft Zeppelin2 votes

Yeah, and singed will be top meta again. He is also melee isn't he? So you follow singed and he starts to do true damage. NOBODY will be following him again,

Executioner1 votes

Your mind is to creative. Stop.

Sire Hippington1 votes

yea cause rumble totally opens his fights with an AA...[zombie-brand-facepalm]

I'm sorry i forgot you cant ever change a play pattern for a rune.

Sire Hippington1 votes

thing is, you can't, the impact of the rune isn't big enough to outwight the risk of going for an AA in most matchups, and if it is you're opponent won't just stand there and let you AA him, he's probably sitting under his tower anyway waiting for the wave, and in teamfights you will most likely drop your ult and the flamespitter befor you even get it charged up. The conditions for the rune are pretty inconvinent for most champs, and even if the effect would be strong on them, they can't use it very effectively in a realistic scenario.

Probably because it was easier to try to balance 1 rune than it is to balance 2.

The way that ad champions use conqueror is much different from the way an ap champion would use the rune. As a result, making it adaptive would essentially be introducing two different runes that riot would have to work to balance at the same time.

Because it's melee ad top laners that are struggling against tanks?

Hextech OwI2 votes

Yet Riot wants to diversify the game and allow champion more role opportunities

You have to be melee to refresh the buff anyway and bonus AD is still beneficial even if you're an AP melee.

Hextech OwI2 votes

AP would we more beneficial than AD though.

what he wanted to say is that there are also AP melee bruisers like Mordekaiser

what he wanted to say is that there are also AP melee bruisers like Mordekaiser

About Mordekaiser, he has AD scalings on his Q and his E. In fact, after rank 3, his Q scales harder with AD than AP. So AD is not a wasted stat on him, even if he is considered an AP bruiser.

wildfox991 votes

it wouldn't be totally wasted but it wouldn't be either too good

then it was only an example, there are other melee AP that doesn't have AD scalings

The sudden ult true damage tick of doom.

Why were all of the items in the assassin update AD?

Infernape5 votes

AP assassin itemisation doesn't exist. Assassins build the same items as mages.

deadlychuck1 votes

AD assassin itemization doesn't exist. Assassins build the same items as divers and marksmen.

chipndip12 votes

Cause AP assassins got their fix in the one of many mage item reworks.

deadlychuck2 votes

Haha, if AP assassins got their fix in the MYMU then actual mages didn't get anything from it.

Seriously, the only thing to come out of that was item 3030 item 3146 item 3152 and any item with mana regen being handed over to supports.

BBW Chaser3 votes

not to sound mean but are people dumb?

How they can compare AD with AP?

Rumble...Veigar...Syndra...karthus...LB...zoe...

Do you even think before you ask this questions?

Hextech OwI3 votes

AD and AP are both a source of damage. Riot wants to open build possibilities. And yes, you sound mean.

Bonipherus1 votes

only 1 of the 6 you mentioned are melee.

Troll for Trump2 votes

Because there aren't any AP skirmishers/duelists/long-term fighters that aren't cancer when they're good

deadlychuck2 votes

There aren't any AD ones either

This is purely a matter of secondary stat accessibility though. AD has far more functional secondary stats than AP now and there's no actual reason for that to be the case.

Critmaster Garen2 votes

because we dont need Rumble to sit in lane spamming flamespitter off cooldown and shitting on fighters.

plus, many tanks scale off ap. if the rune would be good on them, wed have the entire opposite of the effect that we wanted. a lot of them would run conqueror to outtank fighters while bypassing their resistances.

......why does Stopwatch Rune only reduce the CD on Zhonyas? Because fuck you, that's why. Riot knows they're biting off more than they can chew with all the fancy new contents, but they would still rather put forth #lcsbigplay stuff than make existing contents actually balanced, so they have to slack off on things like cross-damage-type builds.

I personally find that this only works on aa's but I might be wrong, but that's how I feel when I run it.

Sire Hippington1 votes

mostly tp prevent tanks like Mao from boosting their good basedamage as they have ok ap ratios but lack ad ratios.

This guys just predicted the future. Conqueror has just been reworked and it gives adaptive stats It seems your wish has been granted
