Can we start to get more LORE based skins?

Honestly, I'm a bit saturating with all these new fancy, out of context and full of vfx skins.

I do like skin series with a lot of visual changes like Star Guardian, Project... But it's always sort of the same. Always new famcy particles with new fancy models and mostly not coherent with the world of Runeterra.

I know that some skin series are linked (Mecha, Battlecast and Project for example, correct me if I'm wrong) and are part of a different timeline/universe but it would be nice to get more skins based on the past or the present of the "base universe"

The four last lore-based skins I can think of are Captain Gangplank, Captain Fortune, Cutthroat Graves and Cutpurse TF, all released 2 and a half years ago during the Bilgewater Event.

So please Riot, can you slow down the production rhythm of the "Blockbuster skins" and start to do more lore-related skins?

Personally I think it'd be really cool to expand the "Young" skin line (what champions used to look like before) like with Young Ryze.

Freljord Taliyah is somewhat lore-based.

In her story she gets that jacket from a Freljordian while there because hers was ruined or too thin or something, I don't remember.

Arclight Yorick isn't lore based btw. It's set in it's own universe along other arclight skins. Only skins confirmed to be current lore based are the gp and mf and I think the Graves and TF skins released during the bilgwater event are supposed to be them when younger. Tyrant Swain was cannon in the old lore and I think high command Katarina was also supposed to be her succeeding her father.

you know what would be cool about this idea? Casual outfits! like how they would dress Casually in their houses or city. i always wonder how characters like Jarvan , Garen , Vayne , Sona , Lux , Ashe , Leblanc , Swain and many others would dress like in their casual outfits.

not only it shows us how they look like outside the...official? outfits and armors , it would also give us pretty good image of how people of each region and city would dress like based on their culture and status.

Might get some awkward continuity issues a la Captain Fortune/GP and Tyrant Swain. Swain and MF are supposed to look like those respective skins at the moment in the lore, but it's not their base for example.

We want a legendary skin for Orianna! A Human Orianna skin would be nice and much appreciated! Correction: we dont want, we NEED IT!

I'd also like to see some alternate lore based skins, i.e. Infernal Nasus is supposed to be if Nasus stayed in the tomb with Xerath instead of Renekton.

All of Viktor's release skins were neat lore skins based on various amounts of hextech body augments.

I love the idea of more lore skins, but first we need more lore.

While I personally would love more lore-related skins, they just wouldn't sell well. If you look for this year skin releases, we almost only got epic ones (including a few legendaries). We only got a handful skins which being priced 975 and 750 RP. The most lore-related skins are usual only 750 RP, since they only change the model, but no VFX or SFX. So, the Skin Team could create a 750 RP skins or 1350 RP one... Ofc, they gonna create an epic one. Second thing it is just difficult to make lore-related skins. I think the last time we got some there back in the Burning Tides Event 2015. And Riot has no interest to repeat such an extravagant event. So, I don't see any possibility to get more of them.

Bonus: Some other canon-lore skins: Spell Thief Lux (atleast in the old lore), Pre-Void Kassadin, Unmasked Kayle, Exiled Morgana, Sinful Succulence Morgana (atleast in the old lore) and Traditional Sejuani. Justicar Aatrox and Arclight Varus used be canon as well (Varus before the corruption and the Aatrox one the way other people saw him). Blood Moon Shen and Akali were in a similiar boot as well.

They wouldn't be worth as much since they would use the same particles and everything. If they didn't, there wouldn't really be a good reason.

It's the actions we have to expect from such a small and upcoming struggling company as Riot. When a company starts out, you have to be willing to work with them in their early days so that one day they can become what they aspire to be.

What do you mean? The default skins are based on lore, and nearly all the other are alternative.

I think a good idea would be to rework the Crimson Elite splashes, make them into a shared splash piece like the Card Sets with Mordekaiser Syndra TwistedFate Shaco Ezreal

Black frost aniv is a good lore skin
