why ivern's win rate is soooo low.

1 you still haven't figured out the best abilities to level up.

stop maxing Q first. max E instead (shield) its much more potent for ganks, when you root someone they can still fight back, its only use is to get in close in the first place. your E on the other hand is the stick/combat option. its a slow and your main damage ability.

as for Q or W, your W is still more valuable than your Q, hiding allies and shielding objectives is more important, it also gives you more damage over the length of any fight or engage so having more brushes around is a huge plus.

2 STOP BUILDING RUNIC ECHOS

its literally worthless, your place is not damage, its utility. runic echos gives you mana back, thats worthless, your abilities dont cost any mana to begin with and you dont use your abilities to clear camps Q 60/30/50/100, non existent mana costs. none of them scale up and cost any more than they do at level 1.

going into the next option. cinderhulk. more health, stay in combat longer, get off more auto attacks and burn people just for standing in the fight.

3 take challenging smite for the damage swing and hard damage negation it brings when you do decide to gank. chilling smite is ok, but you have your E for the slow/stick and Q for your gap closing so its not needed.

4 runes you say? you have scaling MR as it is, so for blues take 5% flat cdr and another 5% at level 18. take armor reds, and scaling health yellows. FINALLY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, TAKE MOVEMENT QUINTS.

i can not stress enough how important movement speed is on ivern, he needs to backtrack to collect on his passive. hes not actually fighting jungle camps, hes just losing flat health/mana every time. its significantly more important to cut down on travel time.

leading into the next issue that inexperienced iverns are doing. thats building boots of lucidity instead of mobis. Ivern does not need a ton of cdr its literally pointless for you to build these boots. stop building them, i get erked every time i see them on ivern. mobis are your best bet, ninja tabi for full enemy ad teams, merc treds is situational decision up to you.

5 masteries 0/12/18, highlights are both wanderer and brush/river movement speed. MS is boss on ivern.

6 your build options

do not build - item 3027 you do not need mana, its worthless, stop building it, you do not need tons of ap either item 3152 its ok, but at the end of the day you are more valued sticking in the thick of the fight over any sort of burst damage, ivern doesn't need belt to get in close, hes already got it walking all over the place and he has the speed he needs already. any other full ap damage build - you are not a damage dealer, your ap ratios are too lackluster to build ap.

instead build this way -> item 1413 item 3117 item 3116 this is iverns core do not skimp on these items. item 3157 item 3083 item 3075 item 3742 item 3102 item 3190 item 3151

Ivern's auto attacks apply rylais slow when empowered with brush (w), which you can always keep up.

ivern does lose out to mages, it is his weak spot, but you compensate by building tons of health and you put daisy in front of you + shield to soak up most of the damage.

7 strategies

when ganking lead with q, then put up your shield after you go in. W asap after you close the distance but not on your opponent, you just do this for the ranged autos.

if you fail the gank you can still put down all 3 brushes in a line just outside their turret range and push the enemy laner out entirely, or they will waste their ward instead.

summon daisy before you go in, it has a slow animation and its pretty pointless to waste all that time mid fight, prep it before hand, it lasts a long time.

you and daisy can solo dragon at level 6.

best thing you can do, start bot side, no leash, instantly clear red/blue and head bot side and hide in brush for easy cheeses. you'll have your shield and root/gap closer available, you'll be surprised how many summs you get out of the bot lane for it.

if you see the enemy place a ward in the dragon pit you can place a brush just in front of it so they lose vision of the objective.

you put brushes between you and the enemy and you make the enemy face check the brush to continue fighting, or they get zoned out completely.

final notice, stop pretending you are a damage dealer, when you're not, your job is to swing vision control, provide team utility.

feel free to check out my match history to find out whats working on ivern.

Stop playing the champion he is too gimmicky to work in an average game of league.

That being said premade 5s (with good players) might (keyword might) be able to make decent use of him.

the difference being im pulling him off in higher elo. last 3 normal games have been riddled with plat/diamond players. and this is working against them.

whereas everyone failing is still stuck on full ap builds and no movement speed.

just switch to health/ms and you'll see noticeable improvements.

But gold really isn't high elo...

I still haven't played him but even when watching him on the PBE with Foxdrop and NB3 AP just never looked worth while on him. I saw the way his kit worked and how much life he lost clearing the jungle with his passive. That said the way I decided I'd build him right from day one would be as a bit of a health tank and not so much AP or anything else. Glad to see that despite being a Bronzey scrub that I wasn't all that far off the mark. I'm assuming that Ivern's going to be a lot like Bard was and will likely maintain a low win rate for a few months before people start understanding both how to play him and play with him on their team.

I think people need to understand that Daisy's presence in-game is correlated to the amount of AP Ivern has. Don't expect Daisy to do shit for you if you don't have ANY AP. Also I feel if you do decide to go tank know that Ivern has very little base damage, so unless you have other tanks or champions on your team that you can enable with your Q and E don't expect to have much presence.

Actually I think this is just a side note, most people just run Daisy into the enemy team and watch her die. People need to manage her better and keep track of her better.
