AFK in promos on purpose

I was in my promos and our GP went AFK on purpose at the start of the game. He said something like "you want me to show you what bankgang is?" Then he went AFK A guy on the other team said he had the same guy last game and he went AFK at the start of that game as well. Why is this game counting as a loss when we started the game with a huge disadvantage?
