Is Ziggs the weakest mid laner?

He is squishy af, dies in 1 second to almost anyone, he has no hard cc, his burst is mediocre, immobile af. Why would anyone pick him (besides people who like his design, but I'm talking strategically).

He actually has really strong waveclear, and gets it very early. Among immobile mages he is the most mobile, he can participate in fights from afar, and a good ziggs can hit the backline with Q's since they aren't easy for tanks to bodyblock. His satchel is actually hard cc btw.

That being said he isn't in a great position so he isn't that strong right now.

Not even close, ziggs is actually pretty good. As is corki. Azir is probably objectively the worst midlaner, and has been since riot beat him to death with the nerf bat. Even in the hands of azir mains he does pretty poorly.

Even though he's squishy he has really, really long range. Basically every mage dies in 1 second to everyone. He has a knockup, mobility, and a slow. He has extremely high damage with just his ult btw. The worst midlaner is probably Annie Katarina Lux Zilean or somethin

Because Ryze has pretty fast waveclear at early levels, but I do agree he doesn't really have a good laning phase.

Taliyah has the 2nd best level 1 waveclear behind Aurelion sol tbh, she has really high damage and not the worst range..around the range of Anivia maybe. If she lands her E followed with a W there goes 60% of your health. Great roams too.

Azir has a safe laning phase with self peel, mobility, and waveclear. You aren't going to kill him, and he's not going to kill you. He's not the worst though. He high attack speed so you can't really roam since he's going to push and do a bunch of damage on your turret.

Annie is heavily outranged and relies on her only escape tool (flash) to kill someone. Katarina is squishy and gets poked out hard, a lot of other midlaners have cc to stop her ult. Lux can't really kill you without her snare and it's not like it's fast or wide or anything that's too hard to dodge. Once Zilean waveclears he's defenseless besides his ult.

In order to accomplish any of the things listed, a great deal of skill is needed. Which is why imo, they're the worst midlaners, as on the average level they barely accomplish what other mages do. Granted they weren't always like this, but this is just what happens a champion gets nerfed to trash tier. The only one I'm willing to give leeway is Ryze, because at least he gets better with experience. The other two are just straight up not rewarding in the slightest, or to put it better, the effort/reward scale is heavily skewed to effort needed.

None of this matters for them because Annie only needs to land one Flash+Tibbers to turn the game. Kat only needs one good teamfight which isn't hard if you have any knowledge of teamfights. Lux has the range and utility to influence the game from far, and can let her teammates do the work while she gets fed off assists in the process. Zilean's bombs are just icing on the cake, it's the utility of his passive, W and ult that he brings to the team. Like I said, they influence the game without much thought about messing up unlike the other 3.

Annie: high damage and stuns Kat: resets, high damage, mobility with resetting shunpo Lux: at least has a snare, but I think she's a contender for 2nd place weakest midlaner Zilean: is primary support for a reason

Annie: Is heavily outranged and gets poked down hard. Relies on flash to actually kill someone. Kat: One of the worse midlane laning phases. Lux: She has to land the snare to do damage to you, and it's a pretty hard skillshot to land if your opponent isn't standing still right in front of you. Zilean: Can't really kill anyone, once he uses his waveclear abilities he's defenseless besides his ult.

I'm talking about primary midlaners, so Zilean is out since he's a primary support. Otherwise you could say Soraka mid is the worst - no duh shes not made for mid.

Kat has great teamfights for an assassin, and great resets. And is one of the stronger pubstompers.

Lux is bad, but at least she has a snare and a strong ult, so she's not completely useless. But either she or TF is the 2nd worst. I still think Ziggs is worse though.

Annie can go 20/0 in certain matchups and she can 100/0.

Outside of lcs he's sometimes played mid

I'm looking at their actual kits, potential, and how they play lanes rather than winrates alone.

The worst? No, but he's pretty bad. He has low kill potential and while his damage may be high, his consistency is not. His Q hitbox is hilariously small and his effective range (where you can actually hit players that aren't potatoes) is pretty short.

In other words, Ziggs does one thing well, and he's outclassed at it.
