There was no reason to disable Normal-Team Builder....
And you guys didn't even re-enable it when you took down the new queue!
But in reality, there was no reason to remove this queue. I'm sure I'm not alone in stating that my number of games played increased dramatically when this mode came out versus Draft and Blind-pick. I don't play competitively, I don't play ranked, I just want to sit down and play the role I wanted and the champion I wanted. I wanted to see what my team was doing safely before locking in. I play maybe 2 games a day so I don't like it when I have to put up with the pick order, call order, fuck you imma mid anyway bullshit of the other queues. Sure I had a longer queue time for playing top, it didn't bother me, I played a Hunter in WoW LFG, long queue times are fine. I liked the security of knowing I was going to get the game I wanted to play.
The new queue does NOT render Team Builder redundant. The declare your champion phase means nothing as you're free to change it, and your champion can still be banned out of it. You aren't garenteed your preferred role either, as you have to pick 2, and champions can be banned and counter-picked. Sure sometimes I got paired against Talon or Zed as Vel'koz in Team Builder, but that was just bad luck. Knowing that I'm some what up on the pick order and wanting to play mid pretty much means I can't play my "risky" or easily countered champs since I'll nearly always be counter-picked. Again, I got these matches in Team Builder, but hell that was plain bad luck and random, its not like its a uniform thing. Lastly, outside of declaring you have no idea what your team is going to pick, none. I appreciate the flexibility in ranked and draft, but when I'm playing one game a day sometimes I don't want to do it with Teemo ADC/support. In old TB I quietly click find new team, they still get to play, I still get to play, no one had to dodge. Its all fine. Now in draft? I'm locked into playing with the Teemo ADC/Support. Or I'm wanting to play a squishy Mage but my team isn't beefy enough. We've all played the Fiora Top, Nidalee Jungle, Vel'Koz mid, Ashe ADC, Sona Supp team. You get ran over by the enemy Trundle because there is nobody to stop him or peel him. In TB I look at the team, see that, and move on. They all still get to play, I get a team with better defined roles.
I speak for a lot of "casual" players when I say that I appreciated getting to play exactly what I wanted. I don't like being forced to draft. I DESPISE blind pick. I believe most Toxicity starts in champion select, and team builder helped avoid that. So please Riot, renable Team Builder, for fucks sake it hurt nobody.
