Option to remove Ninja Tabi

In Ninja Tabi's stead, armor now also scales with bonus health a bit. Every twenty-five points of bonus health you have increases your armor by 1. Because, without Ninja Tabi, simply put, health on items would be very underwhelming in a lot of scenarios.

Damage, attack speed, mana, armor, and MR all get bought often solely for their specific stats on many champions. But more flat health is often very underwhelming on its own, save for some champions that scale with it. There is no situation where a bruiser, juggernaut or tank should not buy Ninja Tabi against a team with 2+ ad carries if they want to help win the game.

This thread might be only dipping its toe into a change as radical as this. What do you think? Would this make the game much more frustrating, or much more fun?

Edit: let's see if we can get this thread to -50!

This actually takes a lot of the strategy out of itemization, in my opinion. The catch to health is just what you said -- it scales better when you have resistances to back it up but, conversely, resistances scale better when they have health to back them up.

If health items ALSO provided resistances, you buff all health items while simultaneously nerfing all resistance items, and that takes much of the challenge out of figuring out how best to itemize against any specific team composition.

Also, Bruiser/Juggernaut/Tank boots have always been fairly locked in. The only ones really worth considering are Boots of Swiftness, Ninja Tabi, and Mercury Treads, and I can still make a pretty good argument for all three. I think the uptick in Ninja Tabi we're seeing is an appropriate response to the amount of AD in the meta, but I'm not sure it needs to be fixed -- the position of Merc Treads as the default buy has just pivoted to Ninja Tabi as the default buy, and the other items still have their place.

Why would you remove Ninja Tabi to do this interaction? 750 bonus health would make up for the 30 armor Ninja Tabi provided, anything more would be even stronger than them defensively.

But more importantly, this would have absolutely nothing to do with Ninja Tabi, other than it would be an extra source of armor in which case you could argue to remove any given armor item for the same reason.

I personally would rather they lower the flat Armor on it and up the basic attack damage reduction.

Its attack damage reduction that scales with the armor you buy is primarily why the item is so good right now.

how about a stern NO?

here you go: NO

When AD is already stronger than AP, and resist is already much stronger than armor, this just looks like a sad AD carry thread.

AD Carries are starting to abuse this item! That's how good Ninja Tabi is. Watch imaqtpie, he plays ezreal AND kog'maw with tabi instead of greaves and it helps turn them into hypercarries. That isn't a bad thing, I think; just not necessarily fair for the tanks that are only so much more durable than them and have so much less damage and sustain.

If a carry is gonna have bulk, it should be from them building an actual tank item, not finishing tier 2 boots.

If anything, Tabi should be buffed - perhaps by also reducing the chance to be critically hit by 30%.

Zed Talon Yasuo Shaco struggle against this item.....how about no?

How about giving everybody that doesn't normally build Tabi more armor in general?
