It's just as close to baron as mid, it's just as close to the (baron side of the map) jungle. It's farther away from dragon, it's farther away from bot lane, it's farther away from dragon side jungle. Like what actual advantage is there to being a top laner in a solo queue environment? Even mid laners can/do take teleport, Rift herald is pretty much trash, and even if it weren't it's not like mid + jungle can't take it.

thats why the best 1v1 laners go top cuz u can rape ur lane and force every resource to go top
a fed top means alot of trouble for adc's once a fed top laner decide they wanan group they can rape teamfights
its a long lane so if ur a skilled solo laner u can take advantage and make the other top useless by zoning
The advantage is in a solo q environment, outside of jungle which is OP right now, it's where you can create the largest gold differential between two players. It's a long lane so you can zone and build up creep waves when you get an advantage and then dive when they get to turret if you coordinate with the jungle. You can easily make it so you're not only fed, but the other guy is essentially a glorified support in terms of gold.
Mid lane is too short. Even if you feed, you'll still get cs. The only thing you lose is jungle invade pressure and you can't roam first.
Bot lane is long, but because there is two people there, it's much harder to completely shut out the other person. Plus with the value of bot tower, you rarely want to just freeze out your opponent anyway.
Because it's the remaining lane and if someone goes up there to gank the tank they might kill him but that tank will always be a tank. They will always be useful no matter how much they're ganked. Bot lane is specifically situated because of dragon proximity and Mid has the champs it has because of its short length.
