Very bad ARAM changes

So somewhat recently Riot decided to give summoner spells a 40% cooldown reduction buff (other than Mark/Dash.)

Now, I think that is completely fine, heck for the most part I've enjoyed it, especially since the map is a bit faster paced. However, I feel like a single summoner spell was very overlooked and it should not have benefited from the cooldown buff. That summoner spell would be Exhaustsummoner 3 . It is virtually ALWAYS up, every single teamfight --with a 126 second cooldown (further decreased if a player is using the insight mastery)

Now you might say: "well, ALL summoner spells are on a shorter cooldown, so what is wrong with this one being shorter as well?"

A: Its the fact that this one completely shuts down many, many, champions and often gets them outright killed. Pretty much any squishy melee is destroyed by exhaust (particularly assassins likeKatarina Talon Khazix ) and it creates a situation of: "the fact that your opponent took exhaust" you can never succeed at your job as an assassin.

Before, this wasn't as much of a problem, if you got exhausted in one team fight, you would probably lose it, but then you could come back next fight, and do your job well. (due to exhaust being down.)

I would like to know what you thinkof this because I, at least, feel like it is a significant problem at higher levels of play. I say this as a ~2500 ARAM-MMR player (high challenger-level mmr) https://na.whatismymmr.com/God%20Raijin

ARAM shouldn't even have things like MMR or what not, it should simply be a mode to have fun. But everyone and what not have to suddenly start to care about doing 'epicly' in the mode to the point a good deal of them make ARAM only accounts to exploit the champion select system and dodge out if they can't get one of the 'good picks' they only bought and throw a tantrum if they don't.

Its like the same kind of schmick of a buncha kids want to start a fight over sitting in the back of the school bus cause its some 'cool kid place', Its plain retarded that people even push it to that situation for ARAM.

[slayer-jinx-unamused]

And i really give less of a care on the summoner spell changes because it won't change the defining factory that basically dominates pretty much all matches: "Groups getting multiple members who ran ARAM only accounts so they can ROFL stomp easily."

So yeah, you should really be doing a poll or petition to get RIOT to update champion select to where everyone gets a random champion from the entire pool, no limited pool pull selection and anyone who complains is obviously some ARAM account user or moron who doesn't understand what the mode is supposed to be.

Well you see, this post that you made actually has nothing to do with summoner 3 on this map, To put it into terms you might understand "EXHAUST ISN'T FUN." -in its current state But just to humor you, I personally don't have an aram account, I am only missing 4 champions currently. Players who whine about aram only accounts are typically just bad because they havent figured out that it is about what type of champions (tanks, adc, mages etc) you get in your TEAMCOMP that often matters more than "which champion" you got

if that is the case I have a rpoblem with summoner 14 and the CD should also be made higher since it completely shuts down DrMundo

God Raijin1 votes

yeah but riot has already made it clear that they want grevious wounds to to be easy to getitem 3165 item 3033 item 3123 Honestly those items are way more trouble across the board than ignite

God Raijin1 votes

on another note ignite lasts 5 seconds, mundo ult lasts 12. but items like mortal reminder can be re-applied to last the entire 12 seconds

Well exhaust can only be used on a single target, so although it halves the damage of an assassin once every big team fight, it doesn't affect the other damage dealers on the team. Depending on the team comp, exhaust might not be as useful as:

  • Clarity, which provides a lot of mana sustain for the team
  • Mark, which allows champs without gap-closers to engage quite easily on a relatively low cd
  • Heal, which can save you or your ally

Also, (idk if this applies to high elo players, but) exhaust is not guaranteed to be used properly as you need to reach the assassin precisely b4 they unload their combo.

the problem imo is that it only takes 1 exhaust per team (4 people can run whatever they want) to basically turn teamfights into a 4 v 5. some champions (again, like many assassins) need to kill the high-damage-target or that high-damage-target will kill them/get ganged up on by their team, DIE and get almost nothing out of it. Basically turning Exhaust into "kill target non-tank melee champion" spell, or at least force them to never commit due to the threat of exhaust even being there.

Idk it just feels like quite a few champions can never be effective anymore because of exhaust always being up. Riot solved a big problem for a big set of champions by adding Mark/dash, but then basically added a new problem for a different set of champs with exhaust having such a low cooldown

If there would be an exception,it should be disabling this braindead cancerSona in ARAM.

naus isnt strong on aram because of his q. it barely did anything for ad/bruiser nasus.

hes strong because of the constant pressure from his e.

I'm being logically consistent because Veigar is infinite scaling and his AP goes skyrocketing because it's based off poking champs rather than CS, but someone will say "well if veigar infinitely scales and he's banned, why not Sion and Dog?"

Sion is pretty strong in aram, but not because of his passive, he theoretically only get 1/5th of the farm that he would on this map vs summoner's rift because he's sharing farm 5 ways with his teammates. and considering games are typically only 20-30 minutes he doesn't even have as long of a time to stack it up. Same thing with nasus, even though he gets 6 stacks per minion its still just **2/5ths **(shared 5 ways but 2x stacks) what he would normally get

That's just what could be said, but it doesnt actually make any sense to do that

exhaust isnt bad. the fact that everyone always flashes away when someone tries to make a play is worse.

summoner 4 cd needs to be reverted to the same as summoners rift. people aleady took it before the buff.

God Raijin1 votes

If someone flashes away from you you can flash after them. If you are an assassin, you and your target could trade exhausts against eachother, but you cant stop the fact that you have to dive into them and you are the only one getting ganged up on. so in other words you Can summoner 4 for summoner 4 but you cant summoner 3 for summoner 3 in most teamfight situations
