hes permabanned. zed wasn't banned in 1 game today. i played him asked the enemy team why didn't you ban him and their ezreal said " hes wr is bad". i got a triple kill at bot lane at level 6. and just snowballed out of control. zed. is quite possibly the strongest assassin in the game right now. even after the "nerfs". do i ban zed myself. no. i'd rather ban miss fortune blitzcrank volibear or hecarim. because i dont have problems going against a zed unless am an ad carry then its a problem. but he has some powers that he shouldn't have. his W range is a little too much. hes such a safe pick for an assassin. ad version of leblanc.

hes banned in about 19/20 games i play in.

Remember back when they gave him a range buff on w in 5.24(I think, off the head guess) and made it a faster skill throughout, yea... That is why he is a pain.

He is good in low elo, in high elo zed actually gets punished for misplays.

I was happy when New Champ Select came out, because it meant that Zed had a minimum of 60% ban rate in any game I played. While I do appreciate not having to play against him frequently now, I do feel sad when I don't get to be the one that bans him.

Here's to all the Zed haters out there! May we continue to ban him even if his win rate drops to 30%.

I wanted to main zed but ppl just ban him for no reason now. I just dont know what to main lol so im just tilting day by day. I have only been able to play him 3 times this season and that was in normals. Its really annoying that you cant even play your champ.

OnanThaMan9 votes

He is not fun to play against, that alone is reason enough for people to ban him, regardless of his current power. And if i played on the rift more i'd probably still ban him too.

No one is fun to play against

Nonsense, if that was the case then none of us would have kept going with this game.

The problem I have with Zed right now is it feels tedious. I've beaten Zed before, in lane and out, but it feels like I've got to play nearly perfectly to beat him while he gets to do whatever he likes to beat me. I'm to the point where I'm just sick of it and am happy to spend a ban to not have that experience.

You hit the nail on the head here. Its the same for me with Zed, Fizz, LeBlanc, Kassadin and Yasuo, all with me playing as Azir. A single misplay and boom, its 3/4 of your HP, meanwhile they can make a tonne of mistakes and not get punished as harshly. All of these champs have one thing in common, their insane mobility which frustrates Azir.

Try maining Teemo, anything that sneezes on you kills you

Yeah I'm sure they enjoy sitting under tower or losing half their hp from across the lane for trying to auto a minion. It's a game of openings, works both ways.

Pretty frustrating having your free elo banned almost every game, right mon?

Lol, sadly I changed my primary to jungle after I hit diamond, I'm too busy abusing Skarner, Volibear, and azir to actually cry over Zed being banned. I do miss playing my favorite champion, but I'm busy using the actual broken champs.

Please. Azir doesn't have the early game damage to out trade anyone. If you find yourself under your tower taking spears up your ass its because you are letting him Q you without trading back. If Azir Qs you, go in on him, because he has nothing more to hurt you with and 9 out of 10 times the damage you do would be far greater. Azir only becomes a danger when he gets AP, CDR, and attack speed. That's lot of stats. Most other champs simply have to hit level 3.

Handin Out Naps1 votes

I'm not sure what you are talking about, Azir is a lane bully, his level 2 w auto q auto Thunderlords is enough to take 40%ish of your hp. There is a reason why Azir is going to get reworked sooner or later he is a lane bully, that turns into an amazing team fighter, that out scales most champions after 2 items, that makes melees useless. Just look how much pros abuse him.

A Fizz level 3 all in takes not "40ish" but all your HP. A Yasuo level 2 all in can take 80% of you HP, or all if you get caught too far from your tower. Leblanc, same thing.

Point is, all the popular mid laners can kill you or damn near kill you with a single all in. Azir on the other hand cannot. He has to constantly poke you down and when you're low enough, wait for an opportunity to drift in and chunk them to death. Now vs immobile champs like Annie and Cassiopeia, its much easier to do. He can bully immobile champs like no other. But vs mobile champs, not happening. Try landing a Q on Yasuo, you'd OOM before you get even 20% of his HP and get this, every Q vs Yasuo is a risk that he'd all in you after you miss for the 10th time or his shield blocked all its damage.

Alright bud I'm going to hope you can tell the difference between an assassin and a mage. First if you are in such a shitty position that a melee champion can all in you at level 2 then you deserve to die. Second why are you attempting to compare all in Champs to poke champs, If you want to make a real comparison do it with Azir and another poke champ. Don't sit here and say Fizz takes all my hp at level 3 because I decided to stand at his tower and allowed him to chase me down, how come I can't do that with Azir :(?? Azir is going to sit half way across the lane and poke you harder than any champion, from further range. Then when he gets 2 items he is going to turn from a poke mage, into a poke+Dps+Engage+Burst Mage. Azirs kit is just plain stupid, this is coming from someone who enjoys playing Azir.

Kassadin gets pooped on if he misplays. When his r is down he is very open to getting destroyed if he cant kill the target first. Not to mention the bad lane phase.

Others I agree with completely and plus they have more dmg than Kassadin.

I'm honestly curious how exactly getting beaten in lane by a Zed means he didn't have to do much to win lane. If someone beats you in lane it means they played better than you, the only exception is when you are in a terrible matchup. You have to fuck up to die, there isn't much to it.

That's the problem with a lot of low elo players, they don't even realise that they were outplayed. They would rather blame it on the 47% win rate champion with multiple low win rate matchups just doesn't take much to win lane with.

DrCyanide5 votes

I feel like you either didn't read what I wrote and jumped to the defense of your name's-sake-champion, or you simply didn't understand it.

It doesn't feel satisfying to win against Zed. It doesn't matter if I'm winning 53% of the time or 60% of the time, if he's the most annoying champion I regularly play against I'm going to ban him so that I can enjoy the game more. Winning is nice, but enjoying the game is more important to me.

There are plenty of games when I genuinely get outplayed, where my opponent knows what they're doing and they set me up to take a beating. I can acknowledge those games and respect them. Zed doesn't ever leave me feeling like he outplayed me, but leaves me feeling like I have to outplay him to stand a chance of breaking even.

Handin Out Naps1 votes

Tell me where I didn't understand you? You are trying to say Zed just wins lane by being there, if you are losing lane vs zed and it isn't a 100% counter match up, it is because he played better than you. Get used to it, you can tell yourself "Zed doesn't leave me feeling like he outplayed me" all you want, but at the end of the day if you lost lane to him it's because he made less mistakes and therefore played better.

Jet Sett2 votes

Zed seems to have more room for error than his lane opponent typically.

Handin Out Naps1 votes

Not going to say you are wrong because honestly it does feel like that when I play against Zed sometimes. But the thing is Zed has many openings to be punished in lane, it's just that they aren't exactly the same openings you would look for on other champions, I feel like a big portion of the frustration is just that people don't understand how to play against Zed.

Jet Sett1 votes

I feel people haven't learned his weaknesses rather than not learn how to play against him. I know to try and poke him if he misses WQ, but unless I get a gank I can't beat him wholeheartedly in lane.

Handin Out Naps1 votes

That isn't the reason he is banned. He is banned because ad's have no way to avoid his assassination anymore. If you actually look at who bans Zed in ranked you will see its almost always an adc. He is like every other assassin now, other than the fact that he is much more popular. Adc mains just don't want to deal with that shit, and honestly I don't blame them. Of course I'm not talking about low Plat and lower, he is utter shit in those elos, they are just circlejerking down there.

Dolasaur1 votes

Where on are you getting the info about ADCs banning him? I haven't seen a single site aggregate that (and I don't remember seeing that available in the Riot API), so I'm sort of assuming you're just going by the games you play. Hope I'm wrong though; it would be cool to see a site that shows that junglers are more likely to ban champs that are hard to gank, and stuff like that.

Not sure what ranking has to deal with this post. Both OP and the person you responded to said they banned him because he's not fun to play against. While Riot said they focus balance on Platinum+, I've never heard them say "we don't care if people under Diamond aren't having fun".

Zero Skill Tank1 votes

There's a champion who has extremely high kill potential, who most likely outpokes you and outpushes you, and who you most likely won't get any help against because ganking them is pointless, and nobody wants to ever see their face in game?

play normals blindpick. That's where most Zed mains fled to and you are likely to see a Zed every other game. Even a Zed vs Zed midlane is not an uncommon occurrence there.

To be honest I'd rather have Zed than Swain.

At least Zed requires a considerable amount of skill, while Swain you just press R and walk into everyone.

I miss playing Zed..... In Normals :(
