The suggestion primarily put out for this is to make Leona able to proc Sunlight on jungle monsters by herself. To try and settle this question, please vote in the poll below as to whether or not you think Leona should become jungle-viable.

darkdill1 votesShe can't secure objectives alone, clears VERY slowly (even for a tank), has trouble keeping invaders out, and is extremely vulnerable to cheese. Plus if she falls behind, she stays behind.
All that said, yes, she's a ganking monster. But in competitive play, she'll never get the chance to gank at all if she's constantly ambushed while trying to level up.

Which is why she (and Alistar) can't be buffed to be able to jungle (despite builds exist allowing them to do just that.): They are way too strong at ganking: Tanky, a lot of reliable CC, and do good enough damage. Not to mention a decent build Leona can tower dive easily.
If they were able to jungle reliably, they would immediately become top tier junglers.
