"Yasuo Gets Banned"

Bultz··1 votes·730 views

Idk if this is a troll post or what.

"at least when he’s on the enemy team."

Clearly you are well aware of the nonsense people post saying Yasuo is Op, but only on the other team and is a giant feeder when on their team. The crap and lies they spread because they couldn't outplay him or made bad decisions in game and are making things up at this point. CLEARLY YOU ARE AWARE.

"we’re also sad that he’s effectively removed from play because of his popularity."

"Butthurt people in bronze won't let him be picked and troll their teammates when someone chooses him in pre banning phase." KEEP IT HONEST.

"We want you to be able to play Yasuo. The moments when he dashes from minion to minion narrowly escaping death, or lands that 5 man ult getting the pentakill, are super satisfying and exciting — we just need to make sure that the way you do it also provides your opponents with the feeling like they could have made meaningful decisions during the engagement."

What, them being outplayed and getting caught out in fights is now Yasuo's fault? You literally have to be so bronze that trump would be impressed to get hit in a 5 man ult by Yasuo. What type of team sits right on top of each other ffs. As for "meaningful decisions" Basically you just want to give them the advantage because they got caught out and sucked. They have CC which completely destroys Yasuo, of which Yasuo has one of, if not the highest number, of counters in game. They Have the ability to buy QSS in any mode to counter his ULT and any of his CC. Meanwhile Yasuo doesn't have anything to counter the enormous waves of chained CC in this game, but hey that is okay....Yes, clearly the mage who has poke, hardcore cc, burst damage, range, and more, is lacking in ways to counter Yasuo, clearly we should make it easier for them. CLEARLY.

"Yasuo already struggles with being a viable champion the higher you climb, and instead has a lot of his playrate derived from players who devote themselves to mastering him (and even then aren’t rewarded with the typical winrate growth you would expect)."

CLEARLY YOU KNOW HE ONLY DOES WELL IN BRONZE AND ISN'T IN NEED OF ANY TOUCHING, BUT WANT TO CHANGE HIM FOR LOW RANKED PEOPLE WHO PLAY THIS GAME ONCE EVERY OTHER MONTH. You CLEARLY know only the handful of devoted players working their ass off get to be high ranked. CLEARLY. Yet you want to proposition changes to make a slayer/carry/skirmisher easier to outplay. TF.

"A decent indicator of this is his presence in pro play: 2016: 19 picks, 1 ban (Nidalee for reference was 404 picks and 930 bans) 2017: 1 pick, 1 ban"

KEY WORD PRO. Stop catering to noobs who can only say he is "UNFUN" because they refuse to learn the game or change build patterns only wanting to get easy wins.

"*While these numbers certainly aren’t conclusive, nor necessarily indicative of a problem, it’s an interesting note that in the most competitive environment Yasuo actually struggles to find his place on the Rift."

CLEARLY he isn't a freelow and takes dedication to play. Yet you want to give other people still more ways to crap on us. FFS. GO work on Annie, Lux, Lulu, any actually broken freelow nonsense.

"Our belief is that if we want to get him into a state where he is both viable and also not a must-ban"

He is only a must ban by noobs and bronze players with no skill. At least have the guts to admit so.

"we need to tweak more than numbers. He was already pretty high on our list of champions that we wanted to look at on the scope of a potential ability update (think Rek’sai, Kindred, Heimer etc.), and with the release of 10 bans he’s moved right up alongside some fellow counterparts in Leblanc and Azir."

Bronze and Silver players cried on the forums and you want to cater for them. SERIOUSLY STOP TRYING TO SUGARCOAT THIS.

"with power shifted around on his kit to provide more windows of engaging decision making for his opponents, while maintaining a lot of the agile swordmaster experience he provides today."

"WE WANT TO GIVE THE CRYBABIES MORE ADVANTAGES BECAUSE CLICK AND POINT CHAMPIONS WHO ARE SUPERLOW RISK, HAVE RANGE, AND A SHIT TON OF BURST DAMAGE NEED MORE." tell it for what it is already. You already know they have plenty of time to engage and make decisions, but want to screw around with our champion because they cried about losing 1v1's to a duelist.

"Now we just need to find a fair way to have his opponents accept their fate"

Who tf are you trying to kid. Fiora is far more unfair and broken to all shit. Yet here you are talking Yasuo only because of bronzies baby tears. Riot sinks so low anytime Yasuo is involved. HE WAS JUST NERFED TWICE WITHIN A 12 MONTH RANGE, YOU CAN'T TELL ME THIS IS ANYTHING OTHER THAN MAKING THE BUTTHURT HAPPY.

If you wouldn't be so blind when it comes to your main you would understand that Yasuo isn't fun to play against.

"Look at me. I'm dashing. I'm so cool."

Yea, it's TOTALLY fun playing against a (excuse my french) retarded fuck spamming his mobility spell over and over making it unneccessarily hard to hit a skillshot on him.

And to top it all off that same guy can negate your targeted CC with the press of his W key, because "fuck counterplay".

looks at match history and see he plays cheap freelo mages I mentioned, proceeds to tell me something about unfun

You say that simply because you refuse to learn to counter or lane against him. You refuse to change your item build, clearly evident by your match history, and you crying "unfun" is like me saying you having long range is unfun on mage champions so let's change that.

Yea, it's TOTALLY fun playing against a (excuse my french) retarded fuck spamming his mobility spell over and over making it unneccessarily hard to hit a skillshot on him.

Git gud m8. You play the most spammy spastic champions like orianna and proceed to tell me something? Oh would you like im to stand still for you? perhaps auto aim it?

And to top it all off that same guy can negate your targeted CC with the press of his W key, because "fuck counterplay".

Umm who can negate targeted CC? It only blocks missels.....like git gud.

If you want to call me out on my champions fine. At least I'm not blind and KNOW how bullshit some of them are, unlike you.

I know how to counter him, and I know how to play against him. I simply hate laning against him because his kit is overloaded as hell.

But, considering how you responded already, I'll predict your next thought: "He doesn't know how to play against him, he needs to git gud, my main can't be bullshit."

I acknowledge how bullshit some mages are and I don't defend them unless the claims are false.

Now it's your turn to acknowledge this about Yasuo.

EDIT: Most targeted CC IS a missile these days.

If you want to call me out on my champions fine. At least I'm not blind and KNOW how bullshit some of them are, unlike you.

My argument = your champions are busted and i have stats and facts, Your argument = Yasuo is unfun. What am I missing?

I know how to counter him, and I know how to play against him. I simply hate laning against him because his kit is overloaded as hell.

Basically your argument is he is unfun. That isn't useable or agreeable. Give me facts or numbers or something real. You're not taking class', subclass', roles, or gameplay into account for anything.

But, considering how you responded already, I'll predict your next thought: "He doesn't know how to play against him, he needs to git gud, my main can't be bullshit."

My thought is your full of it and have no actual argument. He's at a 50% winrate. Two giant nerfs in. Has the most counters in game. Only has good winrate and picrate in bronze. You come at me with "unfun". right.

I acknowledge how bullshit some mages are and I don't defend them unless the claims are false.

And what claims do you have other than "unfun".

Now it's your turn to acknowledge this about Yasuo.

Acknowledge what, unfun isn't a thing.

EDIT: Most targeted CC IS a missile these days.

That's a skillshot. targeted cc is like Ryze's room which can't be blocked.

It's pointless to talk to you as you aren't acknowleding anything outside your thought bubble.

Oh wow, Ryze can snare you, leaving you to endure the whole duration of it while he can't capitalize on it thanks to your windwall.

Yes it is pointless because I already stated the facts that make him unfun to play against.

Read my first post again.

"Keep it honest"

It is really, really hard to take you seriously on any topic dealing with your main given how salty you are. Your attitude just promotes the negative stereotype of Yasuo (or really any main of commonly frustrating champions) which leads people to write you off as just another "biased main who is losing freelo" (I'm not saying they are right, just that you present yourself this way).

Stop. Take a deep breath. And chill the fuck out.

How can I not be salty when they give me no facts other than unfun and fair and pretend it's legit. How long to I have to succkle at the nerf tit and the flaming of other players before they are the salty ones and not me? right.

You take a deep breath and calm down. Then post in a calm and controlled matter so that people don't automatically assume you're just an angry teenager who knows jack shit.

Being angry on the internet doesn't make people take you seriously. If you want to be taken seriously, if you want to actually make a point, you need to calm the fuck down and act like a responsible adult.

If you don't want people to take you seriously, please let your emotions cloud your judgement as you insult anyone who disagrees with you or just disregard people as being bad.

I play Xerath in Ranked. I play him a lot, and as a result I play against Yasuo from time to time.

I like Xerath into Yasuo because it feels about the proper level of frustration. It's on-par with assassin Mids, where I am under pressure but I can deal with the situation if I play smart and will lose if I don't. However, to have even gotten to that point I have to play a champion who has a kit where 3 out of 4 abilities ignore Wind Wall. I basically have to negate Wind Wall from being an ability for Yasuo to feel on-par with where he should be. I've gone 3 wins, 4 losses against Yasuo in that matchup, pretty close to even with Yasuo being slightly favored.

I really think Riot's been trying to avoid changing what people actually find frustrating about Yasuo, and that's why they keep nerfing him over and over again. If these changes are any good, they'll reduce the frustration without hitting his power level too much. If they get the frustration under control, they can then proceed to give him other buffs if he's too weak.

As his kit stands right now, Yasuo has no future except as a ban. This isn't something "learn to play" can fix (and if it is, then you'd still expect everyone Gold and under to ban him, which is 90% of the community). You can know how to play against it, but it takes so much more effort to do so than other laners that it's being called "unfun".

deep breath Okay, I have probably a bit more than usual to say here. I would encourage you to read all of it before this discussion continues any further.

First and foremost to other posters. Please be respectful and treat this as a learning experience for all of us. I'm going to be a bit lenient here but that also means I will not have as much leeway left for the 'traditional' "Ha, ha, the Mod tagged you" behaviors I have seen exhibited in the past regarding things like Chat Logs.

We cool?

Now, Bultz, I can tell you're extreme passionate about your Champion and it likely took quite a bit of time to make this post. I do recognize that the long lifespan of Gameplay has allowed certain types of responses and attitude to thrive, becoming treated just as 'normally' as trash talk within other communities, such as the Fighting Game sector.

However we're looking to slowly draw the line as to what kinds of behaviors are and are not acceptable here on the Gameplay boards.

Your passion is fine. Saying that other's may not have as strong of an argument as yourself, due to levels of experience and proficiency, is fine.

So long as you do so in a constructive, non-demeaning manner.

Diminishing your opponent's stance through actions such as calling them children, belittling their counters preemptively as tantrums, and 'Rank Shaming' are things that do, in a few different ways, violate the Universal Rules of these boards. Additionally, it's just a tiny bit rude to approach what should be an equal debate with such hostility right out the gate.

Now, again, because this has been a loooong running problem with these boards I am not seeking to take any heavy action at this time. No closings, no deletions.

But in return you have to do something for me.

Please, do try to maintain a more level approach to your problems with an issue from now on. I would absolutely adore it if you would even take the time to edit your post to be far less hostile than it is now. However, I would like to be kind to you and not even make this a requirement of our talk here this morning.

If nothing else, let's take a break from this subject. Cool off. And try again later with a much gentler approach hmm? :3

Okay, cool. I get your point, but let me ask you, where you at when I am being flamed for saying anything about yasuo. Everyone trolling Yasuo threads. The constant bad mouthing we get. Cause I get a lot of shit by other players. No one ever checks any of them. Funny you're trying to tell me to be cool and no one else. Ever. Interesting. Very interesting. Maybe you should give this speech to riot when they call us non-human for playing Yasuo. Could solve a lot.

Arbiters just started yesterday actually. Or a few days ago.

The exact details don't matter, just that the volunteer mods haven't been mods for too long.

Teridax681 votes

Pretty much this as well. For sure, there's a lot of negativity going on that needs to stop, and it's going to be our mission to make sure players treat each other with empathy and respect first and foremost so that threads like these don't have to take such a defensive or emotionally charged stance. This might take some time, and we've only just started, so bear with us while we get things rolling. :)

Wardens, actually! :P

Arbiters are specific to the Player Behavior sub-board. But yes, we are very new. But I hope we are getting out of the gate early here to help prove to you all that we will be active and helpful.

To anyone else reading this (and Ralanr), feel free to leave any feedback on the pinned intro post on the gameplay sub-board! We want feedback about this as we try to improve the sub-board! That's what we're here for!

There are other pretty chill people out there. Problem is they tend to be more quiet so they're much harder to spot over the roars of anger and knee-jerk reactions you see in high emotion games/communities.

I'll be honest with you. It's never the 'fun' or 'easy' answer to hear but when someone flames or provokes you, just don't respond. Ever.

Leaving them be does nothing to hamper your own point. I know that seems doubly difficult around Reddit style communities when you factor in things such as a 'up/down vote' system but we're working slowly to curb this one little bit at a time.

I cannot speak for Riot directly, but I do not think they see you as a non-human player. To them Yasuo, the champion, is a product. A product for people to purchase, a product they can sell endless 'DLC' for in the form of skins, ect., ect.

When the community bans Yasuo to such a degree that he is 'practically never' seeing play that means they're sitting with a 'dead product' on their shelves.

Riot, first and foremost, is a company. Companies exist to make profit. So if a product isn't making a profit...what do you do?

You either remove the product entirely or you update/replace it in such a way that customers will want to interact with/spend money on your product again.

For people who love and adore their Champions just the way they are...I can understand this would be vexxing. After all if you're gonna lose your darling, you want it to be for some grand, martyr-ish reason; if you must.

Speaking personally, I've gone through pretty much this exact phase when it came to Dominion. Unfortunately I never got to keep any old vestige of my home mode. It's gone forever now. Am I still a little bitter at Riot about it? Yep, I would be a liar to say otherwise. But I don't think I'm considered any less of a human than their other players just because they removed my favorite thing.

Who knows, you might even like this new Yasuo even better! And if you curb the more negative aspects of your tone-approach, you can still contribute to trying to 'save' what you love about current Yasuo the most. There is historical precedent for Riot listening to the community on their strongest points of feedback when remaking things.

So give it your all, but be open as possible about it~!

That's my two cents anyway. Hopefully it helped you out just a little bit. ^_^

Sakuri has a point, calm down a bit. I didnt like riot's "Yasuo gets banned" Q n A either, but not because they brought down yasuo players, but because it had the opposite extreme of which you used. Yasuo is a champion that in the right hands, can indeed leave a trail of dead bodies as he pushes forth. He is a champion that takes skill, quick and careful thinking but his potential is probably too high. His passive gives him enough dps to render the adc useless, double crit and 50% armor pen make absolutely no sense. But like i said earlier and you did as well, he can only use his full potential when used by a skilled summoner. His shield doesnt leave room for any hard counters to emerge, more or less things will always be balanced after first back in lane. That is why Yasuo thrives in low elo but fails to keep up on diamond and above since people know how to counter him. The EXACT OPPOSITE happens with Thresh. His support potential is frightening but he is also hard to master and has a handful of hard counters. His kit remains the same since his release because of how perfect it is. Low elo, thresh is mediocre with low win/loss ratio, but from diamond and above, it goes up a lot. Thats what riot is trying to say, Yasuo is very strong but doesnt offer much to the team other than damage like zed, talon etc. They want him to be a viable pick in high elo just as much as low elo, the way Lucian is now. As a matter of fact, i just destroyed a yasuo in Top lane 5/1 with THRESH (after i won lane, i realized the rest of my team was doing badly). I was mastery 7 and he wasnt, my autos cut right through his shield and i deal mixed damage by building AD and attack speed, easily outsustaining an innexperienced yasuo.
