Why did Camille get put top only?

I honestly am curious as to why they just don't want her in jungle. Reading the patch notes they were saying they basically want her top lane and not S-tier in jungle... but who cares if she's good in jungle? There are other S-tier characters. I feel like every time I find a character I enjoy in a particular role they do something that makes them non viable in it because they want to force us to play that character in the role THEY want instead. It's killing my desire to play.

If people enjoy a character in a role, and that character is good there. Why not just let it stay there so people can continue to enjoy their character in their preferred role? I've never made it to high ELO only silver but watching most games diamond and higher I don't see Camille picked that much and if she is it's in top lane most of the time. My roommate was mentioning how he misses the old days when you could play what you wanted where. I understand there needs to be structure but if other S-Tier characters can exist in a role why not let her? Maybe I am just missing something but I'm really disappointed because I fell in love with the character and purchased her for jungle since Warwick is lack luster now and I don't top lane only to find out that she would struggle in jungle now.

Who knows, maybe I won't struggle with the changes in the long run since I rarely ever used her hook on jungle minions anyways. She does't really need it as long as she gets a good leash at the start. I was just disappointed was all.

Same reason Kled isn't allowed to have an easy time in the jungle. Her kit is oppressive as hell for ganks.

Cuz getting ganked from two screens away is fun, especially with flash stun being a thing :^)

I'm fine with them taking her out of jungle.

I'm not fine with the hypocrisy of taking her out of jungle when Riot has so frequently removed champs from intended roles to "balance them where they are played." For instance:

support Blitzcrank support Corki mid Graves jungle Karma support Morgana support Nidalee jungle Quinn top Taliyah jungle jungle Zyra support

Then with other champs it's suddenly super important to get them back into their intended role and out of where they are currently played:

As long as she has this E, she should never be allowed to jgl. period.

That's one spell that completely breaks her and whenever she survives a clear she is automaticly stronger than anyone else in this role.

This has little to do with Riot telling you what to play and where, it's bad game design and its consequences...

It is riots way of saying "Hey we aren't going to revert scuttle to bring back diversity to jungle and the recent nerfs to jungle experience only made ganking junglers worse so we are going to kill diversity more by taking out champion out of the jungle instead of fixing the problem we created cause we want "Flashy LCS" or "Only certain champions to interact with each other at scuttle crab"

She shouldn't be viable as a Jungler, and I hope that the last patch has removed her from the role.

I hate this about Riot. Secondary roles should exist. If it's overpowered, then nerf it. Maybe reduce Q damage to monsters. BUT RIOT SHOULDN'T KILL A ROLE. ahhhhhh

I get Camille in the jungle was too strong, Camille jungle did need a nerf..

But why is it that when Xin or Graves got too strong in the jungle they got a slap on the knee? But when Camille or Taliyah get too strong in the jungle Riot shoots them in the knees and locks them in the trunk?

There is a bit of bias of "intended junglers". [sg-ezreal]

Basically her e is insane range for a ganking ability but not that bad in lane as it is a third as good when used for escape. That plus her ult which is already a guaranteed kill means she is s+tier jg. While champions she takes kit parts from who are actually designed for jg like j4 and vi don't guarantee kills nearly as hard ( much shorter engage range, and you can simply flash/mobility after they ult)

Because having a 1.2K range dash, that's also a stun and an AS steroid, at Lv2 means that she can reliably 1v5 and 1v9 the game if she gets ahead. That's why Koreans love their Camille Jungle, since she can basically negate 2-3 AAs of the Jungle Camp, which keeps her healthy too.

Because Camille was designed for top lane but sucks ATM top, and they can't buff her because she pretty much formed the entire jungle meta around her for a year now.

Balancing her in the jungle is a nightmare because of how well her kit enables level 2 ganks on top of all her other strengths. With how much pressure camille can apply, you're trolling picking a power farm jungler into her.

The change itself ain't that big really, pretty much let's her do the same cheese gank but now her crabs are slower. She'll be playable in the jungle, but she won't be close to top tier and leave room to buff dueling power top.
