After Sterak's Black Cleaver's being abused by ADC's

Because the 'abuse' they face isn't worth throwing other champions into a horrible spot and leaving ADCs with less defensive options.

Why are people still pretending that Sterak's wasn't too strong on non-ranged as well?

It's still built on nearly everyone who can afford to get it.

And I bet they probably see value in the team utility black cleaver miss fortune brings, like they probably don't see it as inherently problematic (like steraks/maw kalista)

Please understand that the Youmuu/Black Cleaver stuff of Lucian became popular because of the Sunfire/Iceborn Gauntlet became the most used combination of item in the top lane. It is actually not abused by ADCs, it just happened to be the best answer the meta could give.

yeah, how dare those ADCs stray from their cookie cutter builds! obviously if they are doing so they either are trolling or are abusing the items. It's not like Sterak's the main issue here and not who is actually building it.

I just love how people throw this words like "cancer" or "toxic" and now "abuse" just to try and get the attention of Riot... stop it! 99% of the time you aren't even using the word correctly!

Black Cleave is too OP on Lucian, but then again everything's too OP on him

I dont think that they should section off items like that if some one else is useing it i think they need to buff melee characters to a point where they feel good to play against ranged characters. save for assassins who are doing just fine if not out of control

It being good on an ADC I do t see being a problem. As stated earlier, iceborn and sunfire have gotten popular lately, as well as various tanks.

I think it natural ADCs gravitate to items that are more effective against armor. I don't see how that's a flaw. And it lowers their damage output a little in compensation from the standard ADC build.

A natural reaction to meta changes, but people complain op? Come on..

I keep hearing these "melee only" arguments, but in what world should an ADC even want to build an item like Sterak's or Black Cleaver? No, seriously - it's a class traditionally dependent on crit scaling and autoattacking, with poor base AD... why is this class desiring %base AD or a stackable %pen, both with non-damage stats composing a large amount of the item's gold value?

As I see it, it's either one of three reasons:

1. Those items are/were broken in general, with stupid stat efficiencies.
2. There's not enough incentive for ADC to build typical "ADC items" instead
3. Some specific ADCs have problem kits that can stray from the usual ADC power curve/build timing.

Lastly, said it before & I'll say it again: Throughout the history of league, tanks and bruisers have been competing for the same spots on a team, and one class has always been better than the other. If anything's keeping bruisers down now, it's tanks (or mages post-update), but none of this has anything to do with ADC.
