Riot's silence over mana regeneration topics tells me they are laughing at us for discussing it

darkdill··5 votes·597 views

If my mana regeneration hadn't been so crappy, I'd have saved that Kalista. If I hadn't burned out, I'd have stunned that Thresh as Nami. But NOOOOOOOO, Riot implicitly says mana is toxic.

And you know something else? Despite how many topics are being made about the mana regen nerf, Riot dodges them all. They could tell us they are looking at the mana regen topics and thinking about them, but NOPE.

SILENCE.

ITT: Do not ask me to be nice. Niceties are past.

It's an annoying part of the early game, sure. But if you really can't manage your mana, grab a item 3070

darkdill3 votes

It's still obnoxious late-game, especially on Champions like Lux. She can't go Tear without screwing over her mid-game, and even with double Morellonomicon she ends up with frequent late-game burnouts.

MrPerson105 votes

Play smarter, spend less mana.

Yes, her mana costs are high. Know who else has absurdly high mana costs for their starting mana pool? Kassadin Malzahar

You don't NEED to use Tear on either one. 720G never screws your midgame, if you're having a massive mana problem you can either learn to manage it better or grab a tear to help.

darkdill2 votes

Suuure, so how am I supposed to farm under turret with her if I'll mana burn? If I go out to just autoattack the minions, I get jumped and 100-0'd.

MrPerson103 votes

LOL stay in bronze. Jesus you're an idiot.

720G is attainable in the first 5-7 minutes of laning phase, depending on how effective you are at CSing - something everyone should master. It never ever holds you back at all, especially as Lux. YOU HAVE CC. Nobody can 100-0 you in laning phase unless you've already superfed them, and you shouldn't have considering you have better range than almost any other champion.

Let's not forget you have a jungle.

Why on earth do people use that insult without looking up someone's rank first...

MrPerson101 votes

He's unranked, happy?

His thinking is bronze to an extent that I've never even thought was possible. That's why. It really is that obvious.

redniwediS2 votes

You're right, he's definitely a bronze player. He clearly wasn't gold last season.

MrPerson101 votes

What's your point? He thinks he can't farm with lux who has range, will get 100-0d in laning phase, and needs to rush deathcap eternally.

There's a reason I'm in PI-DV promos on two accounts, I've learned how to prioritize items better than "deathcap required 24/7", "can't farm with lux, too much mana to farm with spells and will get 100-0d at lvl 6 despite that i outrange almost every other midlaner"

redniwediS2 votes

My point is you're bad with insults, and you should feel bad. These boards are supposed to be constructive, so I'll gladly point out your failed attempt at an insult out of frustration over what should be going on here instead.

MrPerson101 votes

I don't feel remotely bad, and wasn't intending to insult.

Stop thinking like a bronze, he'll stop playing like a bronze.

redniwediS2 votes

The road to hell is paved with the best intentions, or so the old saying goes.

Besides, you also quite clearly called him an idiot. I think your true intentions are clear.

MrPerson101 votes

With good intentions*, though I get what you're saying.

By the same token, his utter refusal to accept that there isn't one and only right way is going to be a major hindering factor in his progression throughout League - the point I'm making here being just that.

Hey redditor, who the hell are you even talking to? Rest of the world uses chronological world, like normal people.

MrPerson101 votes

People still use reddit? lol. Please, learn some proper English grammar before posting.

If Lux delays her Deathcap, it tends to really hurt. Also, with Lux requiring 40% CDR, she is left with only one slot left after her Rabadon, Boots, and Void Staff, and generally she has to build something defensive there.

As for said jungler, he was one of those "GFYS" types.

MrPerson101 votes

In what world?

Grab a Zhonya's against a Zed, you'll see a much bigger difference than a deathcap.

Deathcap is far more of a mid-game item than early where you require some defense and offensives to be able to play into your lane rather than run from your lane.

darkdill2 votes

Okay, Rabadon OR Zhonya delays hurt Lux badly. And just to note, Lux's bad cooldowns mean she doesn't charge Tear of the Goddess very quickly.

But since you seem to only want to belittle me, I probably should stop discussing with you and just hit that Report button.

MrPerson102 votes

Maybe you should read exactly how Tear works. You don't need to spam to get mana, you can sit still and passively gain 1 mana every 8 seconds as well as 4 with every spell cast (twice/8seconds)

You can farm with AAs at range, as you should be anyways, and still get plenty of mana from it.

Nothing should stop you from getting item 3070 item 3191 on your first back if you're having issues.

If you're against a heavy combo AP lane, grab item 3001 not difficult.

Reported.

There's a new mindset in League where people just want damage, damage, damage and nothing else, not understanding that ability pump out more spells than your opponent is definitely damage. Think of Ahri without any real mana; One full combo and she's oom. Doesn't hit that combo? Screwed over and either forced to recall or auto attack minions as she gets assaulted from a relentless stream of magic coming her way.

As stated above, 720 gold on mana isn't a waste, especially when it's upgrades can give you large amounts of AP, mana, and even a massive shield later on for free, rewarded from your endless spamming.

darkdill3 votes

Burst is more valued than DoT in most cases.

Slaaneshine2 votes

And I'll always appreciate DoTs for what they are. Sure, burst can kill your enemy outright, but placing an unavoidable curse on an enemy lets you do other things while you do your main source of damage, like dodging or even casting other spells.

Rarely if ever is there a "bad" and a "good". This season I think there is more variety than ever, players just need to find it. Once mobility creep on things especially like Zed's and LeBlanc's button-to-escape is changed, things will be better. Though people will just find another damned thing to complain about.

Say that to Nautilus. 80+ mana costs, has 700 or so maximiuum mana and one of the lower mana regens in the game.

MrPerson102 votes

item 3025 Weird how well this item works, isn't it.

Weird how he's a tank, purposed to provide utility and initial burst rather than kill potential.

redniwediS3 votes

Right, because they clearly haven't touched on this very topic in the recent past. It's not that you missed it and simply like complaining on here.

darkdill2 votes

Their touch upon the topic was them dodging bullets, not saying "Maybe we'll tone it back a little".

redniwediS3 votes

So because they didn't concede that the changes they made went too far they were "dodging bullets"? It's definitely not that the changes are fine, or at least are fine in their opinion?

darkdill2 votes

Pretty much.

redniwediS3 votes

You realize that kind of logic is completely idiotic, right?

darkdill2 votes

Just calling it like I see it.

redniwediS2 votes

I would recommend a nice pair of glasses, because your view of things appears to be off.

killd0zer1 votes

I'm not sure if people remember, but before the changes, mana basically didn't matter past 10 mins.

As in, an early Chalice purchase single-handedly eliminated any need for mana, with exception of some champions like Swain or Kass.

Mana is closer to where it should be, it's just manaless champions weren't adjusted as well.

darkdill2 votes

And considering Riot's apparent procrastination, they won't adjust those manaless Champions PERIOD.

SmokingPuffin1 votes

Mana was too easy to come by. Chalice was basically your ticket to spamville.

Champions that are really suffering from lack of mana should get buffs.

Players that are suffering from lack of mana should adapt.

darkdill2 votes

Want a good solution? Here's one: increase the level 18 maximum mana of certain Champions.
