Darius, Shyvana, Garen, Illoai, Udyr, Olaf, Nasus, Mundo, Warwick all have.
A spell to deal more AoE damage(except WW). Garen spin, Darius spin, Udyr phoenix, Olaf axe, Shyvana flame, Illoai tentacles, Nasus flame, Mundo flame.
A way to make themselves passively tankier. Shyvana passive+ult, Garen passive and W, Darius Q heal, Udyr Turtle Stance, Olaf AS low HP and lifesteal, Illoai tentacle heal, Mundo passive and ult, Nasus passive and ult, WW passive and Q.
A way to deal a single target burst. Shyvana Q, Garen Q, Darius W? Illoai W, Olaf thunder thing, Udyr Tiger, Warwick Q, Nasus Q, Mundo Q.
A way to increase their general DPS. Darius passive and armor pen, Garen Spin, Shyvana W and R, Warwick Attack Speed, Olaf AS low HP and? Nasus Spirit Fire, Illoai Spirit rip thing, Udyr Tiger and Pheonix and Passive, Mundo Masochism.
All of them balance minor mobility and CC spells. Darius pull and slow, Garen silence and movespeed slow cleanse, Nasus Wither, Shyvana Movespeed ult push and ult leap, Olaf Ultimate and axes, Illoai slow and spirit pull, Udyr bear and passive movespeed and stun, Warwick low HP movespeed and Ult, Mundo movespeed and cleavers.
You cannot criticise the design philosophy of one without hitting them all. All are trash without core items. All are nearly unstoppable with core items. All are fairly simple "stat sticks" with some minor mechanics
EDIT: You could throw Skarner and Trundle in there too. Walking "stat sticks" with minor mobility and CC mechanics who are tanky.
To me. It just sounds like these people hate tanky fighter champions. And while some of these champions could use design tweaks and buffs/nerfs, sorry Riot isn't making every champion an Azir/Yasuo/Vayne twitch fest, just ain't gonna happen.
Try to keep in mind. This game first and foremost IS about strategy, gold advantage and statistical superiority. Outplays and decision making are just methods of achieving those.
And if all bruisers are just low utility stat sticks. Hate to see your thoughts on ADCs and Assassins who often offer less team utility and are even MORE about item advantage over their enemies.
