Serious Question: Why did we nerf the hell out of Jinx if Aphelios gets to be this way?

Aphelios has artillery mage ranges, aoe nukes, in kit healing, hard cc, soft cc, dps, burst damage, a turret, and good wave clear. Why did we do all that nerfing to Jinx's ability to do pretty much anything when newer marksman are just blatantly better than the older ones in all ways?

Think on it: We got rid of Jinx's ult damage when up close and then gave Aphelios a free penta button that's damn near a lane long. I get that marksmen have been power creeping for ages now but this is stupid.

Edit: I'm putting this edit so I can clear up a thing or two.

The comparison between Jinx and Aphelios isn't to "ask for Jinx buffs". It's to draw a comparison based on principles. I'm not out here thinking Jinx needs a power boost. I think Aphelios needs a power down + I think he's got some fundamental issues in his kit's execution.

You realize that nerf was in season 5?
Aphelios doesn't get everything on demand. That's the main reason some parts of his kit are situationally stronger, as he doesn't have full control over what he can do at any one time. Could those numbers still be too high? Absolutely. But that then is just a problem of getting the numbers right.

because someone at riot released Ranged Udyr like he was some kind of unholy hard champion to play, they keep mentionning the "sky high skill ceiling" when all he has is udyr stances from range so they gave his stances/guns almost a full kit worth of power each and then gave him free stats by lvling up.

What's the point of building 200+ armor as Nautilus supp if this guy comes along, shits his flamethrower R in 3 people and still deals 1k+ damage to me.. mind you the others simply got os out of that. Why is that? Oh, because this guy gets armor pen per fucking level up. Who in their right mind designs these things..

His flamethrower shouldnt be effected by hurricane, when im getting pushed by a super minion wave, 3 hits shouldnt clear them right away.

Also, hurricane shouldnt work with his Sniper's active, if you hit 1 person you AA that 1 person, not everyone in his range.

His slow/snare gun is actually the most balanced out of them all IMO, the snare is so short, most of the time my support doesnt even notice.

Which spell has 850 range and 9-4 second base CD? What hard CC does Aphelios have?

Hes 96% right clicks and sometimes has a brand-esque nuke. Jinx has a global execute and built in aspd steroids and 700-800 range permanently after level 9

As far as I know Jinx is still a real solid pick holding a 51.4% WinRate despite having a high PickRate, 10.5%.

I see no reason for you to be complaining. If you want Aphelios to be nerfed create a different discussion because this example doesn't support your claim. Jinx was needing nerfs since long time ago. Aphelios needs nerfs too but at least he hasn't been giving free elo for as much time as Jinx did.

Yeah, and then in maybe a year, Rito will develop another champion so much more overloaded it will make Aphelios look like Garen. They've been doing this for so many seasons now. Don't think they're gonna learn.

Trundle was nerfed for his performance in the support role. Then they release "support" champions Pyke and Senna, who seem exponentially harder to balance in comparison.

Riot has done stuff like this for years.

Aphelios is suffering from CertainlyT syndrome, he'll lose mechanics / numbers gutted soon enough.

Aphelions needs to be taken back to the drawing board. Period.

I first timed him today and was doing ridiculous damage with barely any items. His kit is supposed to be "interesting" but it's another Yasuo on release situation.
