Why do I not see many Jayce players?

Jayce is the Champion that the majority of fine upstanding honorable positive players gravitate to, and end up maining.

Since riot is systematically killing off the reasons for those kinds of people to continue playing league, his playerbase has been decimated.

RIP Familyman Jayce.

Too much of his power is dedicated to the qe combo. He needs readjustment both fundamentally and costs. Although he is fun to play.

he used to be good

good enough that he was countering all of the sick LC$ play champions.

so they nerfed his damage on his w in ranged form.

that wasn't enough though. then they nerfed his base stats too.

now he's an extremely niche pick.

all because he has solid damage AND a disengage ability.

He loses most matchups in toplane. he had his time now he's basically trash imo

• he has insane mana issues, and no you can't regen it with melee attacks in toplane. -most toplaners are just simply stronger, without needing to hit a skillshot at all

Hes very niche and quite difficult to play. He doesnt fit most comps (really only a poke comp), and there are other champs that can do what he does better. He can do many things, but not really doing any of it exceptionally well, nor does he fit the meta. But if you take your time to learn him and get good with him youll really catch the enemy team off guard and dominate your and game. Everyone expects your high ranged Q+E dmg, yet no one seems to realize that your melee E does 20% max health magic dmg when maxed. Hes just a weird champ that takes a while to become efficient with. However hes my back up top lane for when my irelia gets banned. I definitely suggest more people play him

He has 7 abilities yet simplistic kit

He hits like a wet noodle now. His Q and E combo dont do as much dmg as before. Hes fun and I hope he makes a come back but idk man.

I still love Jayce long time.

He has poke, unique kit but useless. Even if fed he can't carry and easy to break down in lane. I have him and never liked him. Faced him couple times and easily took lane. Then he wonders looking for a free kill on the weak. It may be just me or something. Don't know his history really to know if he was nerfed or needs attention from riot.

His itemization got completely crapped on. Old LW was needed for his damage output to be reliable for pole and all in.

Not to mention he was a bruitilizer champ.

facing jayce in aram has turned me off from ever using him

He really isnt that fun and only tends to work in poke comps.

Everytime I see him in high elo which is pretty rare he hard carries. Maybe he feeds a bit but he will carry in the end. If you're good with him his combos, mechanics, positioning and choices when to fight, he has substantial damage and versatility and he's untied to an ult cooldown which is a kinda thing great for snowballing games. He's definitely a hard one though.

I think he's ok

Other champions are simply easier to win with. Jayce is easily one of the trickier champions to itemize and play if you don't like building .

He needs both items and levels to succeed, which means if he gets behind he's not coming back unless the enemy lets him. Without early kills or free farm, he will not have any presence until he reaches at least 3 damage items. This can easily be a problem if you pick him into a tank or someone like GP or Irelia, all of which don't need to snowball but only 1 item to scale well into mid game.

Jayce's mid game is weaker than other champions in the same role if he doesn't secure an early lead.

Jayce fills no niche.

You don't think "ooh, our team could use a Jayce top/mid, that would be great". If you want a poke champ you would play a midlane mage.

Hes just a super niche champ. Most dont play him because he isnt super op and a lot of champs do the same thing but are easier.

he does a shit ton of damage and his poke damage is insane.
