Tryndamere and his refusal to die: how to translate that to gameplay?
So I have a feeling that we all know a bit about the angriest splitpusher in League and how frustrating he can be. His kit is rather outdated and results in him being a ball of stats with his ult keeping him alive in situations where one would usually die.
Lorewise he is meant to be this barbarian warrior that stubbornly refuses to die (similar to Olaf except Olaf wants to die but sucks at it), and while his ult does kinda accomplish this, it isn't considered healthy (to the point that I'm pretty sure Tryndamere gets nerfed whenever he gets strong in the meta. But I could be wrong).
So how else could we translate his refusal to die into his gameplay identity? My idea (and it's probably not a good one) draws inspiration from the black soulstone revival passive of Diablo in HoTS.
For those unaware, Diablo in Heroes is this very beefy and CC heavy Warrior (a class filled with tanks and bruisers) whose passive allows him to only have a 5 second death timer if his black soulstone has 100 charges. He gets charges from hero kills and minion deaths, but more for heroes. He can also grab a talent that passively gives him souls, but they can't exceed his cap of 100.
There's more to it, but the idea I want to focus on is the reduced death timer. Now we all know that death timer runes are a waste of IP and the fastest way out of death is getting a zilean ult on you, buying a GA, or having a revive passive like Zac, Aatrox, and Anivia. But these abilities cheat death, rather than just come back faster.
Obviously Tryndamere would need more changes before getting an ability to reduce death timers would be ok, but I think it would give him an interesting niche.
Thoughts?
