So this is where the community has to own up...
...and admit that because of all the backlash, Garen's freaking stupid right now. Coupled with the new items and effects and what-not, Garen's got much more damage + he's about as tanky as he's always been so long as he's not feeding outright. You can say "Kite him cause he can't dash!", but who in Poro's name can kite someone with 3k+ health, a ton of resistances, a movement speed steroid, and a combo that might just nuke you with TRUE DAMAGE until that person dies? It's not realistic unless you have some sort of cc or movement buff of your own on a generous cd, which does not apply to most people unless they have Rylai's or are named Ashe. Now this guy needs serious nerfs, but if it weren't for the community's initial butt-hurt, he would have had significant nerfs coupled with the new items and his new buffs in the first place.
Short version: The community was wrong. The whining caused Garen to be undernerfed before these new items and buffs made him way too strong. Now he's nearly unstoppable unless you straight up shit on him early game.
