[Warning: Satire] What I expect from the Vel'Koz Rework
Some Patch Notes: Vel'Koz is one of our newer champions, but it's been long enough for us to worry that he’s never firmly latched onto a particular Strategic Identity or seen LC$ play. He’s just sort of shows up in solo que, shooting weird geometric skillshots and gaining knowledge through disintegration. We think that part’s pretty cool, so we’re cranking his geometry potential to the skies while optimizing him as an additional turret structure on the map. We’ll give you a sec to re-read that last bit.
While still serviceable as barely even a champion, Vel'koz's potential is truly unlocked when he becomes an additional structure in one of the three lanes. This doesn't mean you’ll be building like a traditional turret would (though feel free to follow your dreams, we’re not here to judge) - thanks to his ability to target any champion (even his teammates), his new experience mechanic from applying Organic Deconstruction to anyone, and his completely mediocre damage output, Vel'Koz will worry far less about itemizing traditionally; opting to think less of the item system as ‘which of these items will help me’ and instead ‘how can i not be an incredible burden to my team past the 15 minute mark?’
Vel'Koz's update may not be for everyone, but his transformation into something we haven't done yet is undeniable. Toss in the fact that either team can pick up his broken turret remains and reassemble him at the position of their choosing, and Turret Vel'Koz sounds more like A Real Thing and less like a Siv HD video. We’ll let y’all feel out how he plays as a structure, but don’t be afraid if you never want to go back to being a traditional champion again.
was the latest released mage. TFW you realize he was released in 2014.
