riot is basically telling us if yasuo isn't banned you lose.

nobody can actually outduel yasuo. PD. into frozen mallet and tank. i was litteraly watching this little shit go under the turret. get snared by the lux. and continue. to chase her down and kill her. gets out with more than half his health meanwhile he was chunking 20% of her hp every auto

i couldn't outduel him with olaf. same level. i had ninja tabi. and a long sord. some armor. and a rubi crysal. all he had was a zeal.

wtf is going on. aren't tanky bruisers supposed to be a direct counter to yasuo.

yasuo is the same case of ekko. he does more damage than ekko. he doesn't feel like a melee champion. he dashes between minions and kites you with longer aa range and his Q. and its annoying as shit.

Are you implying that he has a 100% winrate?

Melledoneus6 votes

The times where he doesn't win is when the Yasuo players AFKs.

Athenes Lulu2 votes

Or when both sides have Yasuo.

One gotta win, and the other gotta lose.

I have never, ever, ever lost to a yas, playing Anivia. If he is a god tier dueler, then don't try to duel him. Either poke/kite, or run away, or burst.

EYYYYY, secret bird counter. She is a good counter - I've only truly gotten smacked by 1 yasuo playing this bird. And this dude was insane as yasuo, so it was more I was gonna lose no matter who I played (well, if I still had old malz, maybe, but......item 3070 )

R.I.P. Old Malzahar. I just dodge every time I get him in ARAM. He's not even fun anymore.

implying you should be able to outduel him as olaf?

yasuo is a melee adc and olaf is a fighter. There actually should be a point where he can win.

Durfain36 votes

yeah and 5 minutes into the game isn't when.

CerealBoxOfDoom1 votes

why not at 5 minutes?

Durfain25 votes

because ADCs are supposed to be late game champions as is Yasuo and he's supposed to get the shit kicked out of him early game by champions like Olaf. It's SUPPOSED to be his weakness.

CerealBoxOfDoom4 votes

yes, by ranged mages and adcs, not melee fighters who make the mistake of fighting him at 5 minutes in as opposed to immediately after arriving in lane or later on.

Yasuo's powerspike, like all melee adcs, is midgame. This is nothing new or shocking

Durfain35 votes

How is five minutes mid game?

[zombie-brand-mindblown]

You've got it completely the wrong way round. Yasuo is supposed to counter ranged mages and adcs with his broken mobility. His mobility but (supposedly) weak early game is supposed to make him weak versus fighters.

CerealBoxOfDoom2 votes

having a strong midgame means that his strength escalates as you approach midgame. Until this point is reached ranged champs will shit on yasuo. Melee champs will have a fairly consistent playpattern against him regardless except that his damage will go up. This means that Olaf isn't just going to bully the shit out of him just because melee. In fact he's not going to have full advantage like ranged champs would.

I also mean to suggest you probably did something you shouldn't have

Midgame is 25-35 mins in

Spicy Rice8 votes

Pretty sure thats considered pretty late game

CerealBoxOfDoom5 votes

it isn't, games just end fast sometimes. Like in certain metas. But you still wouldn't call that lategame.

Spicy Rice5 votes

Personally I do.

Early game is start - 10 mins

Mid game is 10 - 25

Late game is 25+

SaltyToplaneGoat13 votes

Late Game by definition is when everyone is almost full build. The final phase.

Early 0-20

Mid 20-35

Late 35-----

That's more fitting.

Considering games are supposed to average around 40 mins.... Yeah

*30 mins considering how snowbally it is right now, and ~25 in high elo due to people knowing how to close one.

15-30 Mid

Dude, stop defending yasuo. His win rate is anywhere from 55% to 60% depending on source, elo range, and country. This is entirely too high. He's been absolutely abusive for months now, and he's not even being played as riot intended (I've seen some yasuo's completely opt out of crit for their first few items). Not to mention, he is still bugged, and this gives him more than enough damage to guarantee a 1v1 victory against any champion. Riot was wrong to allow this to continue as soon as it started, and they are even more negligent now that he has this confirmed bug.

league of graphs, diamond+, 52% winrate

lolking

53% gold 54% plat 49% diamond

Long story short,

I'm really not defending yasuo, but his problems aren't an excuse for your bullshit.

MonkeyMadness5 votes

http://champion.gg/champion/Yasuo/Top http://champion.gg/champion/Yasuo/Middle

53% win rate in mid and a whopping 55% top. That's plat and up, and so far the most reliable source for champ-specific data I've found.

Also, these statistics really don't matter with the current issue. He's 100% NOT being played as intended. He's supposed to be a hyper mobile melee carry that scales with crit and is very squishy, but can mitigate damage with outplays and his wind wall. Currently, he is a hyper mobile melee carry that scales with crit and can mitigate damage with outplays and his wind wall AND is incredibly tanky. Oh, and let's not forget he gets even more free damage from a blatantly oppressive keystone mastery AND a huge bug that Riot has publicly announced they will not be fixing until next patch. He's oppressive, and to say otherwise is categorically incorrect.

CerealBoxOfDoom2 votes

why are you giving me statistics you say don't matter?

Also regardless of why he may or may not be oppressive.

Yasuo's bug comes from his ultimate

This guy got his ass beat at 5 minutes

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKTq1maakDA

at 5 minutes in a high ranking yasuo player is not yet level 6 and neither was olaf who was a level behind here.

All olaf has to do is not get his ass beat till level 6 and he wins. This olaf got his ass beat at 5 minutes before his ult should have been up.

Yasuo was headed for a powerspike faster than olaf, the end.

Troll for Trump1 votes

Can't use that, it's to outdated of a video.

CerealBoxOfDoom3 votes

did they change how leveling works or something?

MonkeyMadness1 votes

I don't understand your point. The yasuo won.

CerealBoxOfDoom1 votes

If you actually read the post you might understand my point.

Why does it matter if the yasuo won or not? The post was there to demonstrate the general 5 minute gamestate.

MonkeyMadness1 votes

You just stated that all anyone needs to do is beat yasuo pre-6, then showed video evidence proving how hard that is. Olaf is supposed to "counter" yasuo, yet yasuo went at least even with him pre-6, and then destroyed him post 6. I don't know what else to tell you. Yasuo is op atm, AND HE HAS A BUG THAT GIVES HIM EVEN MORE DAMAGE WHEN HE ULTS, yet Riot has actually declared that he is performing at acceptable levels. Where, LC$? I don't see any other rank where yasuo isn't overtly oppressive.

Troll for Trump2 votes

Yes, because Yas has issues with ranged champs mid.

He doesn't. More mobility, more safety, more consistent poke, and windwall.

CerealBoxOfDoom1 votes

not at 5 minutes he doesn't. He's easier to deal with until around level 6-9.

Troll for Trump2 votes

Yes he has no issues with ranged champs. Just don't be dumb it's that simple . Same with Zed same with Talon same with Yas. Yas and Zed much more so. Too many safety nets. You can't do anything as long as they not idiots.

CerealBoxOfDoom1 votes

not a lot of stories about him getting 5 minute kills on ranged. They also get safety nets.

PB4UAME1 votes

Cause he shouldn't be able to get them without a gank, or them misplaying terribly.

Not being able to kill someone with a supposed advantage over you in the first few minutes of the game is not a sign that you struggle against them-- especially when they can't kill you.

CerealBoxOfDoom1 votes

well yes when they only criteria for making such a judgement is a kill, one of the more extreme assertions of advantage, then yes I'm sure nobody has an advantage over anyone.

On the otherhand, yasuo struggles and is forced into more aggressive and higher risk playstyle against ranged. and in higher level play this gets exploited.

PB4UAME1 votes

Not really. He's only forced into those play styles if he wants to get a kill on them.

Seriously, you don't need to kill your opponent in lane, you can just farm safely, hit your power spike (which Yasuo spikes disproportionately to most range champs) or simply wait for a gank, or roam yourself.

Nothing about being in a ranged match-up requires Yasuo to play aggressively.

Troll for Trump1 votes

It's not a matter of whether or not he can kill the ranged champs. He shouldn't be able to. It's the issue of how impossible it is to harass or punish Yas for his "weak early game" .Not only that, he can trade evenly or favorably with them, which shouldn't be possible. He can easily catch up and run from mages, but they can't do either. It would be fine if Yas could do ONE of those things, but he easily does both.

Guy Fox Teemo1 votes

Ok Yasuo's pretty OP rn, but he really is weak early game vs olaf. How on EARTH would you even lose that lane? YOu literally just have to throw your axe at him any time he gets near the minon wave and when he does you E him.

PB4UAME1 votes

Actually, yas can windwall your undertow, [Edit which then despawns the axe so you cannot reset it.] Additionally, doing that is a great way to shove your lane and miss some CS here and there. Also, Yasuo can Q you outside of the range of your reckless swing, and dash away when you try to close on him. Another thing, don't forget that 40% of your E damage is also done to yourself as Olaf, and that Yasuo has a shield. If you do not pop the shield first, Yasuo will easily out trade you if you just try to E him when he's near.

That said, you can just farm relatively peacefully, and sustain through his poke until he puts himself in such a position that either you can land a few Qs after he wastes windwall, and follow that up with an E, or simply out trade him if he makes the mistake of staying around too long if he pokes you with his Q.

Olaf should win the lane before the recent ult bug, and with equal jungle pressure, but if he gets behind even a little bit he's fucked.

DunkinNoobs1 votes

{quoted}

It doesn't. The ax stops at the wall and can be picked up right there.

PB4UAME1 votes

It seems you are correct, just tested it. It used to be the case that windwall would simply eat the projectile. Some researcher shows that it was changed sometime last year-- I'll correct that.

WolfChases1 votes

What level are you? Melee ADC's and Assassins are not supposed to kill fighters like Olaf, Irelia, Yoric, Jax, Diana, et. in any stage of a game.

CerealBoxOfDoom1 votes

What should happen is irrelevant. If you fuck up while a champ is approaching optimal output then you are going to get fucking rek'd. I don't care how hard you think you counter them.

In the case of yasuo I doubt he would have had a chance had olaf waited till level 6. All the champs you just mentioned actually can find themselves struggling against melee adcs around level 4-5 especially if their summoners are fuckups, greedy, or impatient.
