There is something that has always bugged me about Rengar

Rengar has always been my one of my favorite characters. I just love the whole Idea putting a combo together with your abilities to defeat your opponent, he felt like a true fighter.

Which Is where the weird feelings I have torwards him come in. Why has a fighter fallen into place as an assassin?

Well, all of his damage is front-loaded onto his Q, making the rest of his kit revolve around using Q to full capacity. So I would like to suggest (which may come off as a total knee-bashing) a couple of changes.

1: Add a 2s global cooldown to Rengars abilities.

Balanced.

Just kidding.

One of the reasons Rengar totally annihilates anybody he comes in contact with is his ability to mash all of his buttons at once and get a kill. A way to stop this would be easy, add a global cooldown on top of Rengars other cooldowns. Sayyyyyyy 0.75-2 seconds roughly. I would like to lean torwards the two for the balancing I am going to suggest. (of course alternate balancing would be needed the lower this cooldown leans)

2: Lower Rengars Q cooldown down to the global cooldown (2s) and nerf its damage. Get rid of being able to empower it, or make it's empower weaker.

The amount of damage it would need taken off is going to be high, but it would be worth it for the other changes I have in mind. And it makes Rengar actually have to choose between a reset or his actual utility due to a global cooldown. It makes him NOT want to build damage; No damage built = No 1 shot assassin tendencies.

This is a decision I thought of because I wanted Rengars Q to be his ability to gather ferocity for empowering another ability, I don't actually WANT Rengar to use only this ability, I want him to use others because they are a better decision, and have this as something he uses last resort because he ran out of juice on his W and E. If this happened to not be the case, His Q could be taken off of global cooldown and be raised to 3, or even 4s, but I don't think it would be a problem because a global cooldown would hinder him immensely.

3: Increase the damage and resists on W, lower E's cooldown (6-8s).

Makes them better choices over-all to use instead of Q, (which I'm thinking would be a weak ability after what I've done to it) and remember, Rengar can't use them all at once anymore.

I'm not quite sure if any power could be added to Rengars empowered W & E, considering they are already great abilities to use, but if it was to be needed, it would probably be higher base damages and a potentially higher heal on his w, which may or may not break him depending on if it's just base heal or % heal.

4: R... We've all seen this suggestion before; remove the warning icon but make the cast sound global. I have a solution to the potential problems this may cause; Lower his resistances while in stealth. Considering enemies can hear the global ult, they should be able to place the pinks that they SHOULD have when playing against Rengar. This would allow them to potentially collapse in on him when he is weaker, and is 100% situational.

Another Idea I had is to allow Rengar to empower his ult to consume his ferocity bar (and not regain ferocity after using it while empowered) so he can't jump out and destroy you with a double q. But give you another choice; Rengar goes into a berserk, excited at the thought of tearing his prey to shreds. He doesn't go into stealth or have a global alert, doesn't lose resistances, gets an even larger Msp bonus torwards enemy champions, and no longer has his global cooldown for 10/15/20s.

This way if you still want to play Rengar with damage, you get a short window of time to do that damage after ulting, and will also have another option if you didn't get a chance to ult before a teamfight.

Please note that that was just an idea I had and could/couldn't be used as a balancing factor.

I wanted to lean torwards Rengar not 1-shotting people. With reduced q damage, a global cooldown and better utility, so that he plays like a fighter or tank instead of an assassin. I think this solved that problem but would be subject to balancing depending on if he came out too strong or too weak. Which the second is more likely due to the GC potentially gutting him.

TL;DR:

He's a fighter not an assassin now boi.
