I never got to play it BUT I would love to see it. What was the scaling again? 1:1 Alpha and 4:1 meditate? I know that double strike was every 7th hit but it didn't have a timer. And was his wuju style the same? I never found out the ratios or even how that worked before the rework. Same about his ult

Skarner was FINE before they touched him. He was niche but had a loyal playerbase and a fair winrate. Absolutely nothing was wrong with him. They dumpstered him for no reason and made him into something no one wanted, then left him crippled for months, then changed him AGAIN to try and appeal to the average player... but the average player only cares about what's OP and flavor of the month, and Skarner will NEVER be that unless he's insanely broken.

So now he's nerfed again, his old players don't like his new mechanics, the people who picked him up have moved on to the next new OP thing, and he's again underplayed and underpowered.

Rework success?

No, I actually think the joke was that Riot's so fed up with the player base that if they were to revert reworks, it'd be those champs just to spite us.

By comparison, all reworks that came out of the oven pretty well with minimal casualties (there's always, always casualties).

Mordekaiser's got even more uproar than Cassi did, and still... silence. And considering the one who ~~trashed~~ reworked him is CancerlyT? That guy's one of the most bullheaded Rioters. It must really suck, but it's very doubtful Riot's going to admit they made a mistake and revert Morde.

We don't even fucking want to 3 shot ppl with Q, or get double xp in bot lane, or get a dragon. There's a difference between playing a champion because they are op and playing them because we love the champion. Do you think anyone will touch new Mordekaiser once he inevitably get nerf-hammered after world? That's playing op champion. Yet old Morde, with all his deficiencies and flaws, still has alot of players who play him simply because they enjoy Mordekaiser's theme and antic and gameplay, and half of that charm comes with how metal, both physically and metaphorically, Morde is. So now Riot killed that off, released the most uninspired title and a half-ass op kit that will only get player because it is op and no one will touch him after the inevitable nerf

I played the game to have fun. Morde was central to my fun. The dude was out dated as fukc and I still loved him. What I loved is gone. I don't see a need to come back

I liked Darius before as a early game lane bully, who still had a decent pick rate, not some broken ass juggernaut who heals with his q, can't duel for sht early, and is picked/banned EVERY DANG GAME.

Ok, look, I'm not saying your complaint is not valid but comparing what was done to Darius and Morde is just weird.

Darius still retains the same core gameplay, all they did was shift power away from his early game and into his late game, added counterplay to his Q and gave him more power to compensate for the loss of reliability.

Morde's a totally different champion now.

No. He doesn't counter the champs he needs to counter he's not a bully. He's supposed to a bully, not a weakass duelist during early. They took away counterplay, if anything by making his q heal to provide sustain for dar.

I'm not sure why Darius ''needs'' to counter champions when he in fact does very well right now.

And honestly I don't think you can say that a shift in power curve is equivalent to a champion's identity being ripped apart.

He needs to shut down riven. He should be able to stop lategame champs from snowballing earlygame, and keep up with eearlygame champ, not be a lategame monstrocity.

And yes, shifting powercurve can tear up identities. Imagine if vayne was earlygamebased, and cait was lategame based. Or nasus/sion were earlygame based. You get the idea.

I still don't think that's even remotely comparable to what was done to Morde.

Darius is still a tanky top laner that has trouble getting to you but has his way with you once you're in his range.

Morde went from an AP bruiser solo laner known for his massive pushing capabilities, who was somewhat vulnerable to kiting but could still function decently at a medium range to a duo laner whose power is all concentrated unto his Q, who absolutely cannot function outside melee range, is centered around taking objectives and who cannot do shit without an ally sitting next to him and making up for his insane weaknesses.

I don't see how going from an early game champ to a mid-late game champ is anything like that.

I don't disagree that they've misstepped from time to time, but this was pretty much the most vague, passive-aggressive request for a change ever. Is it asking for Morde changes? Juggernauts? All of them? We may never know.

Except the Sion rework did the opposite- they took something that was bad (ask anyone. His identity was supposed to be 'unkillable juggernaut', but he played like a mage with an axe. His quotes were just Ahnold all over everything. His graphics were impressively outdated. He was bad.) and made it into something gorgeous, full of proper identity, and most of all- not a burst mage with an axe for some reason.

You know they won't do the same thing they did to Sion to Taric, since Taric's case isn't Sion's case. Taric has identity and plays roughly how that identity makes sense- it's just all outdated, it doesn't fit in the current game. His identity will stay (roughly) the same (a little more detailed though, I presume) while his gameplay will be brought up to the power of a true gem paladin- bringer of power and outrageous fashion. He'll be better- their champ-up team for larger-scale reworks puts out good work, it's just the little reworks that get sent to one designer that end up being weird/disliked.
