Ap Cho gath is getting out of control mid lane.

Pros: -Infinite Sustain -High Base movement speed 340... -Huge Ratio -True Damage -Super Tanky

  • Ridiculous CC -Strong Basic Attack -Destroy Tanks and Squishies -Aoes Skills -Huge Base Damage -Dragon and Baron Control

Cons: -Slow Skillshot Delay on Q but combined with W there is no escape -Gets Huge so he is prone to get hit by skillshots

He is such a huge threat mid lane because its impossible to push him out of lane. He is going to sustain and destroy you. He was suppose to be designed as a huge tank sucking damage not a A BURST MAGE WITH GODZILLA SIZE.

He is also ridiculously clumsy and easily kited. He is a supposed to be a lumbering behemoth, and he does that well. He is more powerful than you, but also less mobile than you. Does he have massive power? Certainly. But he pays for that power. Don't take his power away just because he beats up Zed.

Cons: -Completely Immobile. -Has a predictable play pattern. -Burst requires him to either blow flash or wade through a teamfight to get in range of targets. -Tankiness is relative to his team's advantage/disadvantage as it relies on not dying due to it's risk vs. reward nature. -Lots of visual indicators that provide warning and, consequently, counterplay. -Vulnerable to kiting.

I've taken to banning him lately, not because he lacks counterplay, but because people in Bronze don't know HOW to counter him and he's FotM for Mid Lane.

He's not tanky until he is able to get a couple of items and stacks his ultimate. He just has descent sustains. If anything, you can kite him quite well, mostly because his engage (his Q) isn't really that reliable, and has a long-ish cooldown. He doesn't have any type of mobility or much range either, which coupled with his lack of descent engage does give him a descent weakness.

Harass pushes lane, no mobility, not tanky without tank items, very very very easy to gank and should be camped into oblivion every game. Either your jungler is dropping the ball, you are pushing him to the safety of his tower (not what you want to do), or you are feeding too hard for your jungler to help.

I honestly like the idea of hulking AP Mids. Means I can save more peel for the ADC

Sigh....

If Cho goes Rod of Ages into mainly AP items, he's not 'super tanky', I don't know where you're getting that from. He has health, whoopty do. If you get a few teammates to focus him for 2 seconds, you'll be surprised at how fast his health bar drops because he's backing up that health with minimal resists.

'High base movement speed' Bro, for real? Are people yelling at Panth and Yi players because they have 'high base MS' too? Cho has NO mobility in his kit.

He also doesn't kill tanks very easily unless he's very far ahead. He has no % health damage, and at least 85% of his kit is magic damage. Their tank has to build Visage / Veil and then Randuins / Warmogs, and suddenly Cho can't burst them down.

His Dragon / Baron control can be countered by_ keeping him away_ from the damn things, which is easy because A) he's immobile, and B) if he DOES get the objective with Feast, then he has no ult for any ensuing teamfight.

It's funny how people are finally catching onto Cho's mid play, because he's been able to do this for so fucking long and yet the only reason he's surfacing now is that he can survive against so many of the cancer assassins.

-Sincerely, a Cho Main

As someone who enjoys farm lanes I have no complaints with cho'gath. Easy to dodge rupture and he has nothing threatening outside of that.
