Discord group falling apart due to "Sick of League" The new achievement system is wasted potential.

People in my circle are quitting because they're sick of league, more specifically they're sick of SR and Aram, TT is just too slow since there are a lot of flaws in the map with the lane shape, gank paths and gold income rate.

We all used to group up and play the random modes on weekends and we'd do our own things during the week. But seriously with MMO's like WoW seemingly rebounding and their PvP being arguably just as competitive, as well as other genres slowly popping up, I worry about the long term health of my chosen game: League of Legends.

There isn't innovation, even new champs aren't all that amazing. How many more dashy boob babes with burst damage will we get? Then after riot finishes how much do you want to bet they'll just release effectively updated versions of other champ archetypes... hell pyke is basically just the assassin version of nautilus...

that's the thing, why should people want to stay to a stagnating game that is actively removing features with devs that make excuses to not put in basic QoL features to the client? Riot games isn't DE, they're a multi national multi billion dollar game development studio that only makes one game.. so why are there no new ideas? Why aren't they trying harder to make new maps and modes, things to draw attention? Why did they just skip the whole battle royale craze when Mobile Legends made an extremely popular battle royale mode in a moba for your phone that managed to have low latency international world wide servers.

We see people saying "This would be too hard for the devs to implement" but like... no.. they crafted the engine from the ground up, they can implement anything they can imagine. Is the issue manpower? time Management? or the market team going only with crown sourced statistics? We've seen over the past five or six years how major franchises like Call of Duty have actually lost a lot of presence even as they raise in profits, this means that in all likelihood they'll fade away in the next decade or so because of market practices that sour the game and competitive spirit.

Same map, over and over, the meta is getting figured out to a science. High elo players say it's becoming mind numbingly easy. new players are forced to endure 30 levels with the eternally banned toxic demons making new accounts so they can rage at a guy who has played less than 20 matches total not understanding some concepts in the game.

the tutorial doesn't teach much, there is no story mode, nothing to really show people that the game isn't a 1v1/kill simulator, or what the 150ish champions in the game are capable of... like Who the fuck expects a malphite to 1shot combo you??

People used to come from league from many different games

the ARPG players who wanted to pvp in a simple yet relatively balanced diablo-like game

The RTS players who wanted to play a new strategy game and win via economy and map control

The Fighting game players who wanted to riven all over people

now it's just so formulaeic. like, what's strong this week? Juggernauts top lane? nah that was last week it's ranged top lane week! Duelists Jungle? nah it's assassin week! Mid lane.. what kind of mage? Better build that one mage build that completely overshadows all the other ones because all utility itemization has been gutted for ap champs. Play and AD caster? Well if you're not going double lethality with a black cleaver you should just go eat shit and die as far as the balance team cares.

and here we have this achievement system coming out right? We all wanted it for so long.

like I assume people always thought achievements would have come out for everyone with 3 sub systems

`Introductory achievements that encourage people to learn like "Win x games with a tank champion", or "Get an average of x cs per minute over 10 matches". Stuff that sort of helps people figure out how to play the game.

General achievements like "Be the highest damage dealer on your team x times" or "have the best crowd control score in x games" etc

and then OTP achievements like "Insec on lee sin X times resulting in a takedown", or "Kill five enemies with xerath ult", "do x damage with lux passive" or even "Go through x fights as jhin with your movespeed constantly up and not taking damage"

but now, we have what? Get people to step on teemo shrooms? That's literally just throwing them in tri or river and not caring, we have zero ways to bring people into this immensely intimidating game, where there is so much to learn and you have to go to fucking skillshare to learn what drives the game and victories. People who enter this game come into it thinking "There's only one map", "Everyone is toxic", and "What the fuck do I do", none of these are addressed properly. The tutorial teaches you to towerdive with miss fortune at level 1, the ban system is extremely flawed and also seemingly both overly harsh while also missing so many people.. yet the ones who do get banned just make new accounts so now all the toxic players are mixed in with a sprinkling of bots in low level games to really just cement the amazing first impression of a new player. My friend tom IRL even said "I tried that there's too many bots and everyone just called me names instead of teaching me stuff" Like what the fuck.

There is no community to speak of for a casual. Casuals don't use the boards or reddit. We don't have chat rooms in client? nothing to encourage discourse outside of a match. PvE is extremely limited and while I get this is a PvP game, it just seems wonky that there isn't even any push to use the star guardian systems on a more consistent level. Hell imagine the hype of using that mode (Or odysee) as the groundwork for a permanent PvE mode, and releasing a set of augments every week for 2 or 3 different champs, thus importing them into the game mode.

Imagine if you were looking for a 5 man you could just click on the social menu and hop in a chat, or if you wanted a custom you could do that. Imagine being able to make an urf hexakill match on the fly in customs and just play with 11 friends. Or even dominion.

riot isn't fostering a community, innovation, or new players. So why should we expect the game to last a long time?

what's there to be proud of in league? How many skins you have? your rank when match making is widely stated to be massively flawed?

like dude c'mon we don't even have the ability to have preset emote wheels for different champs or positions.

this is a MOOD.

Issue is that Riot kind of decides what the meta will be like over the year, and when it gets to be a cancerous state like it is right now, (DAMAGE AND NOTHING BUT DAMAGE 24/7) they don't do enough to cause a shift until Preseason.
