Ezreal and Wave Clear

The biggest problem that Ezreal has is that he has absolutely no wave clear outside of ulting the wave. The reason that Runeglaive Ezreal was so good is because it gave him 50 ability power, 200 mana, 10% cooldown reduction, and most importantly AoE damage (wave clear). This gave him some much needed early combat stats (if you have ever played ap ezreal without runeglaive you would know that early game is really hit or miss), and the wave clear to not be pushed under tower, and then to push the wave punishing the enemy laner if they left lane. So I was thinking how could Ezreal have some wave clear, but not in a way that would make it overbearing. Well items are out of the question. Runeglaive was so good on him because it was cheap and gave some decent combat stats, so creating another item like runeglaive for laners just isn't going to work. I came up with two things that could work.

  1. Whenever Mystic Shot kills an enemy or neutral monster Ezreal's next basic attack deals bonus AoE magic damage and scales with AP. You could have the base damage scale (and maybe the ap ratio) as you level up his Q. The problem with this is that in a team fight this wouldn't be effective until the very end of a team fight especially if there are no minions or anything around, so I thought about it and came up with a different idea.

  2. Every X auto attacks (I was thinking 5) ezreals next auto attack does bonus AoE magic damage that scales with AP. It gains base damage and a higher ratio as Ezreal levels up. This way it works with his current passive and is effective in team fights. It also gives him the wave clear that he really needs.

I know that there is a marksman patch coming out and that could fix the problems that Ezreal faces, but it might not. This could be a viable solution. Thoughts?

If you remember runeglaive then you remember what that caused him to be right?? pick-or-ban status???

So, I'm not super-informed, and I'm by no means an expert. However, I thought I read someone else on this topic say that the lack of waveclear is meant to be a sort of balance because he's good at damage output and mobility, and he also has some cc at his disposal. I think the idea being that they don't want him to be good at too many things or he'll be op. Again, though, this is coming to you second- or third-hand, and the original may have just been full of bull.

I'm no expert either, but Ezreal has no CC. Q nope. W... no. E? No. R---Nope again. And his damage output is really below par compared to other ADCs right now. He kind of depends on his attack speed, but... Jumpscare Rengar pops out of nowhere one shots all squishies. His E is pretty good, but its cooldown is relatively long. I think rank 1 is 17 seconds and rank 5 is 9. But yeah, you're not to blame as you got this info from another source.

Doesn't his W slow all champs it hits? Maybe I'm basing that info on an outdated version...

It gives attack speed to all friendly champions it hits.

Yep. You're right. I was wrong; sorry to anyone mislead by my ignorance.

Did it do both at some point previously, though? For some reason, my memory is saying it did... But then, my memory also was saying that it does that currently, so...yeah, grain of salt, and whatnot.

It might have. If it did it was before I started playing. I know his W used to be pretty broken so it probably did slow at one point.

It used to heal when it was first released , and it used to slow the atk speed as well at some point. His W got changed a fk ton of times lol.

"Ezreal fires a fluctuating wave of energy, dealing magic damage to enemy champions, while increasing the attack speed of allied champions."
