He probably duo'd+ with people under plat so it tanked the MMR.
Like someone I know is Gold 1 and it says a similar thing like "Silver V welcome to Elo Hell!"
seems cheap as fuck tbh.
so he gets to advance in plat fighting golds/silvers?
Pretty much.
Not really. With his MMR that low, he's going to lose much more LP for losing than he would gain for winning. He wouldn't be able to climb unless he started winning significantly more games than he loses.
As far as I know there isn't any website that will give you someone's actual mmr.
right but it should at least be remotely accurate right?
Based on what? If we don't actually know how the mmr equation works, how can we tell if some website is accurate in calculating it?
I mean we can spitball numbers, but who's to say he doesn't have a gold 2 mmr? How big of a gap is a gold 4 mmr and a gold 2 mmr? How big is the gap between gold 2 and plat 4? There's just too many different variables to have a realistic conversation about it.
As long as he doesn't lose at 0LP, he won't get demoted.
adding u in game to send a link. pretty sure ill get in trouble for it here.
I can see the dude from your match history. Its actually really common to see very low MMR people in the 5 level of any division.
hmm interesting.
I've learned not to be as impressed by Plat 5 as I once was, and this season a lot of Silvers got boosted to Platinum doing the 5 man queue. Gold is now left to deal with the fallout.
There isn't too much of a difference between Plat 5 and Gold also, just like there isn't between Gold 5 and Silver, Silver 5 and Bronze. Just keep climbing and you'll get where you're meant to be soon enough.
