Just a little something you seem to have forgotten, Riot...

Match History Statistics still has a row for 'Stealth Wards bought'.

Unsurprisingly, it's always 0 for everyone.

EDIT: I was going through my old forum posts when I found this one. 12 months later, not one single thing has changed. I know it's far from a game-breaking bug... but it still looks pretty embarrassing.

I made a post about this and it got downvoted, I think people hate me, lol

Ackelope1 votes

Yeah, it's possible. People who frequent the boards tend to get reputations. Sometimes I wonder if I have one, don't think I post enough though. Unfortunately, it often leads to people downvoting certain people even when they have a good point, they just don't like them :/

I don't know what I could have said to make people not like me, it may have been a stupid thread that I made just to throw ideas out there, I made it in the form of a discussion but people responded very negatively so idk.

This game despite earning them billions annually still hasn't gotten a hired team to polish and basically spell check the code. This game financially is beyond a beginner Free To Play game and there's still odd 2009 glitches and no ones going around making sure the game is consistent and well... polished! Riot needs to play more Blizzard games and understand polishing your game can make it go from mediocre and cheap on the outside to critically acclaimed.

You need to calm down on the hate train. It's just a little thing.

Besides. Blizzard has quite a few problems itself.

Calm it down? This game has been out for 7 years and we are now only getting a new client, there's inconsistencies across the board and Riot are the biggest selling multiplayer game on the market right now so I think with all that said it's valid to point out big flaws in a game especially when you have to think where all that money goes, they have made 1 game and they don't seem to be planning to make a new game any time soon so with all that billions the game could be more highly produced if it was given a bigger budget to work on. Regardless of problems Blizzard has you've gotta hand it to them how well made their games look on a visual level. Amazing production value. It can make a mediocre game look beautifully well developed.

Ahem. Lets get this straight.

Riot Games's revenue (the money that they made) in 2014 was around $600 Million. Blizzard's revenue was over $4 Billion, employed over 6 times as many people, and has $14 Billion worth of assets.

So when Blizzard puts more money into a game to make it look nicer, well, they have more resources to do it.

Using outdated stats to try and make your point relevant: Nice one!

Too bad RECENT statistics show Riot raking in $1B in the 2015 year. Ouch, almost as if you had to go back far enough for that to not be valid.

Blizzard knows what matters: The game.

Riot doesn't know what matters. They blow all their budget on eSports hoping it will keep players attracted while not doing anything to make the player experience better.

Outdated? No. 2014 is the most recent OFFICIAL revenue numbers that show when you google "Activision Blizzard Revenue" and "Riot Games Revenue". Its proving difficult to find Riot's numbers for 2015.

But for arguments sake, Riot Games is estimated to have made $1.6 Billion in 2015. Activision Blizzard made $4.66 Billion in 2015. And youre still ignoring that Blizzard, by being in the business for decades, has $14 Billion in assets - such as artwork, copyrights, and infrastructure.

Whats your argument now? 2015 is outdated? Blizzard lied about its revenue in 2015? Theres just no way around it - Blizzard is a larger company who has more resources than Riot does.

This.

Blizzard has more games to profit but LoL is the biggest but only source for Riot

3TWarrior1 votes

well, as riot recently released, they actually spent a large portion of their profits re-engineering the internet so that for the moment, league of legends has better connections available (direct lines to servers instead of countless reroutes across the map)

if we look at just the routers involved, there might be 1000 routing points in the us (city by city) and for a decent router to handle all of the traffic, if we say that router is a corporate, high-capacity router, they might cost at least 1000 each. That is a million in just equipment, and depending upon the work-hours involved for each router needing to be installed, it comes to a significant amount of money

it took them six seasons to figure out that feeders should be addressed.

there are still ip farming bots in ARAM, there were so many bots in dominion that riot had to take that game mode down...

its pretty pathetic.

And never mind the fact that they still openly REFUSE to do anything to prevent people from being screwed by DCs and AFKs in literally THOUSANDS of ranked games worldwide every day, even though there are very simple and easy solutions they could implement, because it's Not Their Problem.

3TWarrior1 votes

well, there is a problem with this theory in that every piece of riot's code is hand-typed or stitched from another piece of the game, so errors frequently occur and when they are taken from historical code, errors that have been patched in the past reoccur

Adobe's Air client has its limitations after all

the problem this fixes is that the creators do not have to filter through millions of files hidden by the coding program, but it makes it where even a small flaw or mis-typed character while browsing the code can create unintended consequences

but if Riot chose the other method, they would more than likely need double the workers they currently employ for coding to make sure everything is updated and referenced properly
