Like seriously, how do you deal with that? All sort of mages and champions with 1000 range on abilities played bot: Zyra, Brand, Neeko, Morgana, Xerath, Zoe.
You go anywhere near them, they fall back, you go near minion wave the poke without taking minion aggro.
Seriously, they are so awful to face, especially as a tank engager like Leona/Ali, since all you can do is watch and prey for a perfect setup on a gank.

Grab a Doran's Shield start for added sustain
Dodge their skillshots to waste their mana
Shove to force them to use their mana to help their ADC clear rather than hurt you
Engage when their abilities are on cooldown.
