@Riot Season 7 MMR Reset

In my opinion, and I have seen a few threads already pop up about it, there should be a hard reset across the entire player base, except Masters, and Challenger. Maybe D1, but some beg to differ.

Season 6 allowed anyone to just boost their friends to higher ranks, a rank they don't deserve.

So I am thinking that you should do a hard reset for about 95% of the player base. Everyone start out in bronze/silver. and go from there.

Now, you may be thinking, thats totally unfair, Diamonds going up against Bronze! If you play a normal game, most of the time, you will be going against someone a lot higher rank. No difference there. And, all of these players would be out of bronze/silver within a couple days/weeks, so it won't have a long term effect.

Why can't they just soft reset the people with Dynamic badge on Flex Queue and hard reset their Solo Queue MMR And vice versa for solo players? I have a solo badge. There shouldn't be a reason for me to be punished for something I never used/abused

This would be a total shitfest and the ladder wouldn't be sorted out untill at least halfway through the whole season.

You'd have 10x the amount of complaint threads because Diamond players and silver players would be playing against each other. With no distinction the teams would be lopsided for at least a few months.

As someone who played with friends a lot, I agree. I wouldn't say i got my rank because of teaming up but if you change the system then there is no reason to carry MMR into a new one. I actually found that the two people i queued with didn't make it any easier because we would end up against 4 or 5 man premades most of the time. I do agree with OP though. I got to silver 1 on my own from bronze 5. My buddies and I all got to gold together and one of them has reached gold 1 solo. I kinda quit ranked after hitting gold because all i cared about was the rewards.

Rather than hard resetting everyone (which would be a s***storm of epic proportions) when not just use a lower soft mmr level? Basically instead of (MMR - 1700)/2 , they use (MMR - 1200)/2? This would pull plats and diamonds down more than golds and silvers, but not so much that you would have high tier players against bronze/silver like you would in a hard reset.

edit: The 1700 and 1200 are hypothetical. I don't recall what mmr they use in thier reset formula, nor if it is as simple as current minus reset all divided by 2
