Is Thresh being considered for a buff?

Riot is trying to increase the popularity of supports recently and buffing Thresh seems like good way of doing it. IMO Thresh is in a pretty weak state and has been in need of buffs for a good while now instead of the double soul drop from epic monsters (the W change was actually good though). My main issue with Thresh is that his tankyness is significantly worse than most of the support roster who migrate damage much better due to better base stats and/or abilities that negate or heal back damage taken during the laning phase and awful defensive scaling. I suggest putting more power into his passive to address that issue. Something has to be changed in order for him to be in a good spot again.

It's okay for people to have to be good at the game for a champion to flourish.

High skill floor does not equal strong champion. Despite what the gameplay boards would have you believe, Yasuo and Vayne are weak in high elo even though they have a high skill floor. Thersh's passive is currently a little too feast or famine. Which is amplified even more for supports/adcs who need more things to go right for them too snowball than any other lane.

No, but if you can work his mechanic it ceases to be a gimmick and rewards him, and it can filter into off-meta builds very easily as its benefit is direct to almost his entire kit.

If he gets buffed, top-tier players will probably super feel it and he'll just get brought back down in another way. Skip the middle man, I say.

Thresh is always up for a buff. He's gotten nothing but bug fixes, QoL changes, and buffs since the nerfs he received in season 4.

No. He does not deserve a buff. He is already pretty strong in his current state, and he has a rather more complicated kit with insane play making potential. Now, because his passive requiers you to collect souls, you should make the best to collect those.
