Please explain promos to me.

I have posted this yesterday already and while it ay seem like a salt post i am generally interested in the topic. I'd just like to get some reasoning. Please explain promos to me if you can. Really.

In promos you have to beat a team of higher mmr players with probably worse teammates than usual. That means just to get into a certain rating you have to be better than players of that rating with tammates who are worse then the enemy. I really don't understand how that makes sense. It's like asking a college basketball senior team to beat a team of nba sophomores just to attend draft. Also why do promo game losses affect LP? If i lose these unfair games why does the LP loss still count as if i lost in an average ranked game? How do these things make sense?

They're not unfair, and the MMR difference really isn't that big, or possibly nonexistant. There are actually multiple safety nets built into the promo system to help you succeed. If you fail your first set of promos and then get back in, you start with 1 win in the series. They really aren't that player unfriendly and if you have been climbing in the past, a promo won't stop you.

You dont have to beat team of higher MMR. You are playing against exactly same MMR that u played game which got u into promo. And it makes sense because to prove that you belong in that division ,you have to be able to maintain positive winrate.
