Well it says it heals for a percentage of ALL the damage you deal right? Not just physical or magical?

but then, it would heal 15% of 1500 which is something like 300 hp

IIRC, Q is treated as an AoE ability, so you would only receive one third of the healing.

It isn't but rito decided to leave it coded as one because they hate AP sustain. AD lifesteal is fine though. Get as much of that ad you want

Seems more like a leftover from the old Q(which WAS aoe but did more damage when hitting an isolated target) than anything else.

It might be left over, but it's more likely that they didn't want his Q to heal him for significant amounts through spell-vamp in addition to generating shield.
