What are the differences between Poro king and Aram

Going to try out Poro king for the first time, but it looks very similar to Aram. What should I know about the game mode?

Poro King is all about hitting the Poros that are projectiles onto the enemy team. If you get 10 before the enemy team does, you get to spawn the Poroking (Kinda like Rift Herald, but slower). You can give it temporary effects using snacks you purchase from the store. Additionally, you get to pick your own champion on Howling Abyss. That's a general summary of it, I guess.

Edit: Also, you still have to die in order to be able to purchase things from the store.

To elaborate a bit further (note that this is my opinion), their nature is kinda opposite. In aram teams with good poke/waveclear/sustain usually have the advantage, but in poro king - while it's still the same map - those with good engages have the advantages instead.

Your toss poro is on such a short cooldown, hurts, and provides so many opportunities to engage that ranged poke is relatively insignificant compared to that tool. Squishies also lack the capability to defend your turret when your opponents summon poro king, and even if you're good at dodging snowballs, your teammates will still get hit by them and engaged on.

Don't get me wrong, what's good in aram is still decent in poro king, just that in my opinion they aren't taking the full advantage of the tool that's been given to them in this particular mode, whereas other champions may use them to the fullest and hence might come out on top.
