People like you are the reason why Riot isn't listening to players when it comes to balance in the first place. You have no idea whatsoever what this seemingly little change could mean.

Remember when Lee sin was dominating a few years back. Then they came up with a rather small change:

v7.10

Base stats MOVEMENT SPEED : [350] ⇒ 345 Dragon's Rage COOLDOWN : [90/75/60 seconds] ⇒ 110/85/60 seconds

and suddenly his winrate dropped by a little over 2%.

These 2 AD at level 1 can change early trades immensly and help him farm more consistenly and have a better waveclear too.

That is because it is Lee sin. Not an immobile ADC that is meant for stall poke comps.

this is something that literally is proven to work. Champions gaining or losing small amounts of base stats have been proven time and time again to be really effective and really useful. Sorry but not every champion needs to have gigantic buffs/nerfs in order for them to be balanced

You forgot the very significant 20 second nerf to his ultimate level 1. That's easily the difference between being able to pull off a gank successfully and not being able to.

Not only that, but Lee Sin is a JUNGLER who is CONSTANTLY auto attacking things from full health to death while also taking damage. Varus is just last hitting and occasionally trading, where 2 AD means some, but overall very little since the main focus is still going to be safely farming.

For a jungler, less AD means longer clear time which also means taking more damage and likely having slightly less opportunity for a successful early gank and snowballing. The nerf to his early ultimate CD compounds on this, as does the MS nerf.

For someone saying people have no idea what they're talking about, you sure forgot to consider these things.

They don't listen to anyone when making minor gameplay changes. They only listen when they are changing champions dramatically like a small gameplay update. So chill out.

And are you seriously comparing base ad with +5 movement speed and cooldown (20 to 15 more seconds on his R) stats and calling such changes "small"? The irony of your words to me of not knowing what small changes can do.

As for the help with the waveclearing, yeah maybe but even then it's fairly minor.

So, I just want to preface this by saying that I do agree with you about the base stat changes, 2 AD and some mana-regen can go a long way and people often underestimate how strong stat changes can be (even if they seem minimal.)

But seriously, did you read that entire changelog you just quoted? Adding 20 seconds to a rank 1 ult and 10 seconds to a rank 2 ult is a large hit to any champion, that's what hurt him so severely. Not the MS nerf, especially since Lee is already chock full of mobility and usually rushes Mobis anyway.

2AD on an adc is a pretty large buff. Yall laughed at the graves 3AD nerf... Until it hit live and his winrate took a good hit.

I mean I'm no genius but...

+2 ad on someone building lethality sounds pretty big.

Lethality is only a cheezy build for the early to mid game and even during mid game it starts to fall off because Armor outscales the Lethality Stat.

Um no? It never falls off on Varus with his massive Q scaling......

Don't forget to also discount some damage because hitting several units reduces the damage to 85% - 33% based on the amount of enemies hit and most of the time the damage will never be fully dealt because the main target will always be behind something.

You've obviously never seen high skill Varus skill shotters throwing Q's through walls for river, etc, or using it as a pre-amble to his ult. to kill his main target and then pick off the ones getting rooted from it.

Most of the time, minions aren't in the way.

Lol alright.

I've seen it and i've done it. The issue with this is that you have to make sure that bushes aren't warded for starters and secondly in most cases enemies will be recalling behind their tower not next to it so his Q won't reach them unless you go to Riven and go near their bush that's near the tower but even then you will have no vision of them unless you pushed out the wave (which enemies won't recall because they don't want to loose CS) or an ally walks up close enough to provide vision.

It's possible but it's very conditional based.

2 ad buff is +2 dmg to his every AA(and he AAs a lot with his passive and his usual builds), +damage to his Q and E. Not really a huge buff, but i don't think he needs one, this small buff is probably enough

When Graves was nerfed, his final nerf that pushed him from 52% WR to 50-49% was a -3 AD nerf.

Illabethe1 votes

2 AD is a HUGE buff to an adc. Especially one like Varus.
