Pls buff his ap ratios i cry when they nerf his bases because " muh tank nautilus one shot"

tank nautilus is not how manly men play nautilus

ModWulf Helhammer3 votes

I play Tank with RoA (and sometimes can pick up an Abyssal). Can tank for days and still almost one shot squishies if I catch them ;)

yeah not gonna lie... this is an issue. a few week ago the enemy had an Alistar mid. buildingitem 3100 item 3116 item 3027 item 3089 item 3009 item 3152 he was CRAZY strong until we managed to outscale him lategame becuase if his lack of armor and magic resist

i feel tanks can deal way too much damage if they build damage while still being stupid tanky.

Ralanr4 votes

Alistair can get away with it because he has the best tank steroid in the game: his ult.

full APNautilus shield is nothing to laugh at either especially with a lot of AP items now also giving + HP he autos are crazy strong, because of his passive and his W and the amount of CC he has makes him REALLY hard to get away from

Ralanr1 votes

Not saying Naut doesn't hurt, just saying that Ali isn't really punished much for full AP.

Malicious Metal1 votes

Damage is so important as of late, I haven't been able to pick Nautilus in the Jungle anymore. Sticking to Skarner and Vi as of now with the occasional Junglekaiser

Ralanr1 votes

Now see if you played Sion then you wouldn't have this problem.

His damage is good because it's unreliable.

Malicious Metal1 votes

Well, Skarner slicing you with overcharged AS and Steraks empowered sheen procs is rather nifty too.

WoonStruck1 votes

If you want hilarity, try the Warriors+Black Cleaver start that Koreans love. Your early damage is obscene, should anyone try to contest scuttles, vision, etc. Can even fight Kha in many circumstances.

Also, if you get an early lead, Trinity+sterak's+sterak's+steraks+GA/Zz'rot+boots. The passive base AD increase stacks. The unique active does not. I'd recommend scaling armor/MR runes. **No, its not reliable, but it is a pretty funny/inexpensive win-more build for normals. **

Nautoday1 votes

It's still surprising how squishy he is. Considering his shield doesn't scale off AP at all. I play tank Nautilus as support and AP Nautilus in the JG, and I am surprised by how quick I die with the abyssal, roa, rylias build.

Ralanr1 votes

The only two tanks I've played that don't die quickly are Sion and Sejuani. Ok at Amumu. That's three tanks that don't die quickly.

I should pick Shen back up.

My typical Naut build is item 3027 item 3110 item 3111 item 3065 item 3742 with a situational last item. I build plenty tanky. The "one shot squishies" requires me to use all 4 abilities, so don't think I'm just getting away with it.

(another thing to keep in mind is that I only use the two standard rune pages, so my Naut build will have the 15 AP and 7.83 MPen to start off, and I start Doran's Ring)

Jimmyyy1 votes

Alistar's only stupid tanky when he builds like that because of his ultimate, and slightly cuz of his heal, otherwise, he's just as 'tanky' as any other mage that builds roa and rylais.

TheSingularity1 votes

Yeah but if they buff his ratios his bases will be nerfed as compensation. Forcing ap naut and crushing tank jg naut completely. Wouldn't mind base increases on q and w

Dominick Destine2 votes

Nautilus is a good champ.

He is a great support and I might start playing him again if these go through.

TheSingularity1 votes

It won't make him a better support. He's too weak pre six conpared to other tanks for this buff to matter to lane naut

Ralanr1 votes

Not sure why this was downvoted.

Also Dominic I have a question for you. You have expressed time and time again that Sion isn't great, dare I say you think he is trash tier. So I'd like to ask, how would you take him out of the garbage?

Dominick Destine1 votes

how would you take (Sion) out of the garbage?

Obviously that's a rhetorical question, the answer would be to reduce his base damage on every single skill in exchange for lower mana costs, lower cooldowns and MASSIVELY increased base stats. His base stats are complete garbage.

There is no way he could possibly compete with Ekko Fiora Illaoi Darius Yasuo Gnar Riven Renekton Irelia barring a major overhaul of his values. It would help revert some of his guttings.... and buff his atrociously bad ult.

I've heard Sion has been doing well as support, but I find that very questionable when his support win % is under 40% in my bracket and 53% overall with a 0.4% pick rate.... low pick rate inflates win rate, so 53% is actually very low for the pick rate.

SaltyKracka1 votes

Trick question! Sion is anything but underpowered.

After I read the changes I'm a little confused. So once nautilus locks on to a target and say the target flashes up to his team, his teammates will get knocked up will take 200/300/400 instead of 125/175/225? And additionally they are stunned after the knockup? If so awesome.

Zydron1 votes

Only the target and the people around them are knocked up, everyone else is stunned

i think it means that the players hit along the way are stunned like the CHOOSEN target is now.

right now if you are in the patch you get knocked up but not stunned.. only the person naut used the until on gets the stun.

i looks like the are lower the damage to the main target but make it affect ALL players the same way, with the same damage, with the stun affect all the players hit now

that's at least how i interpret it

Seeing those buffs made me jizz out of every crevice of my body*[slayer-pantheon-rainbows]* Tbh though he needs a slight base increase on his shield at earlier levels/the first level only. Or perhaps buff his atk/movespeed. Mainly due to repeated nerfs crushing his clear, the sheer strength of monsters and the price increase of mobies. Combined these made his jungle performance very meh compared to other tanks like sej, sion, amumu, braum and zac (aĺl full tank) This buff is nice, but it don't help him survive the vital early stages or speed up his clear. I haven't touched him in ages simply because he feels more sluggish than he ever has.

Buuuuut..... THEN THEY BUFFED NUNU UTILITY TANKS UNITE!!!!!!!!!! [zombie-nunu-hearts]

Nunu got gutted.

TheSingularity1 votes

Um. You crazy? They buffed his early game

Sightless661 votes

2% movespeed is very minor, and it comes at the cost of a lower uptime once he has any CDR. He gets a 100% uptime at 30% now instead of 20, and that's not great for him.

He's definitely not gutted like the last guy said, but he's not buffed either. This is about as insignificant of a change as we've seen in a long time.

TheSingularity1 votes

A buff to support nunu? Idn i didn't do any in depth stuffs. Just went yay lower cd

Sightless661 votes

The lower cooldown is actually not helping him, because it doesn't match the nerf to the duration. You and your ally will actually spend less time blood boiled after the patch, because the duration has been nerfed proportionally more than the cd has been buffed once you have any CDR.

Naut is OP as is tho... I main Jayce top and was versing naut a few games ago. I was build defense and the dude brings my health to half with 2 abilities.

TheSingularity1 votes

He has high bases but 90% of his dmg is reliant on that shield staying up. Pop it and he's done. Allot of people bail when they pop it or fight through the dot

Abuse his cooldowns early game. His shield lasts 10sec so either wait it out or pop it. Grab a dominks and cleaver. You'll be able to kite him and shred him if he builds tank. If he goes ap, let him shove lane and get jungler to camp cos his move speed is tiny. If you ain't bullying him early or if he's bullying you, you're doin something wrong babe. But then again, jayce ain't as strong as he used to be.

ItsOrval1 votes

Ah ok, that was only my second time playing against a Naut so I didnt know his abilities. I was bullying him, but hed hook onto me, then use his cc ability to make me lose half my health. Jayce is still pretty strong imo tho.

TheSingularity1 votes

His passive grants additional physical dmg when it roots u. Note that it is a root, not a stun (you can use that ranged aa steroid of urs). Combined with his w if he was ap, would most certainly chunk you a bit. No one's ever tried to do it to me. But mby a qss would work? You could qss his hook as it began preventing him from gap closing, rooting and slowing you.

He is stronk early. But drops off very fast if he cant get anything done. Spesh when tank shred items are involved. Kind of like the old illaoi (feast or famine).

HELL YEA BROTHER Nautilus + summoner 12summoner 4top + item 3078item 3053item 3748 GO GETM

DeathBurst1 votes

Given it's the first day of the new cycle, and that the buff looks REALLY huge, I'm not convinced it will go on live as is... Don't want you to be disappointed.
