ADCs top are made strong by the meta

Do you know why they weren't a thing in s1/s2/s3? Because duo tops were a thing back then. Because having to play Vayne top vs, for example, Sona+Darius meant either feeding hard or being level 3 with 10 cs at the 10 minutes mark. The introduction of jungling is what marked the decline of duo tops: tanky characters could hold the 2v1 decently while the jungler farmed and ganked, thus giving an advantage to the team.

Today? It would work too: I dare you to pick Vayne vs Sona+Darius and not feeding super hard. Why doesn't this happen though? Because the holy meta is now set in stone. Because even suggesting going duo top will be considered trolling and result in either a dodge or a 9xreport player, with the attached /ff before minute 3.

Alright then, enjoy losing to one of the easiest-to-counter strategies, you damn meta worshippers.

Yes they were. They've always been a thing.

If you put an empty line between a quote and something you like to comment about the quote, it doesn't put both in the quote-box.

What ADC went top lane S1?

They're more common recently because assassins are less common.

Also, top lane is pretty well balanced right now, which opens up a lot of picking and counter picking for the lane.
